IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE STARS - AN ACCOUNT OF LIVES IMPACTED BY 'EVERYDAY ADVERSITIES.' PART 18.

'Like death and bereavement, there are times when we seen to be the only one or ones experiencing what seems like 'our worst nightmares.'  

Yet, given some space and objectivity, we soon become aware of the fact that.  

'Our worst nightmares' are in fact no more than the everyday adversities which many other people are having to contend with.'


As Kazaliwa’s life spiralled out of control, at least, the control of his parents and family, the concerns and anxieties of his family would continue to increase.

His parents and brother would always be worried when he was out.  

As they could not know what he was up to, and would always, most probably be correct, in feeling anxious that he was not up to anything good. 

Police from the local police station would begin to visit the family’s home. 

And, as the days merged into weeks and the weeks merged into months and months into years, the frequency of the police’s visits would increased. 

 As Kazaliwa illicit and criminal behaviours continued and intensified.

It would not be long before Nzuri and Mfanyazaki would draw a connection between the police sireen and their son being arrested or being looked for by the police. 

Of course it would not always be the case that every time the police’s siren sounded, it would be about their son. 

But that would not matter, it would still provided an attack of anxiety in them. 

They had already been quietly and relentlessly been conditioned to think of trouble when they heard the siren. 

And then to think of their son, Kazaliwa, being in trouble, either in causing it and/or suffering from it.

This led to Nzuri and Mfanyazaki – and probably Mzaliwa – becoming acutely anxious each time they hear a police siren, and assuming it would be on its way to their home; especially if Kazaliwa was out.
