BRITAIN'S REVOLUTIONARY PRIME MINISTER - WILL SHE LIVE THE TALK? THE END, FOR NOW.

In summary, Prime Minister May's speech was all about a 'one Britain' concept, about unity of people and purpose, and about inclusivism. If students work hard in their studies, and later, everybody work hard and work together, not only will everybody succeed, but Britain will also succeeds.

Britain's version of 'the American Dream', which we already know, does not work for millions of Americans; irrespective of hard they study and work. Meritocray, like people, it seems, needs an helping hand for it to work efficiently and effectively.

Of less certainty, is whether the Prime Minister, unlike President Obama, whose presidency is ending just as hers is starting, will be able to deliver the bold and grand vision she is projecting. After all, how ironic it is, that, just as Britain begins the process of giving effect to Brexit - Britain's decision to leave the European Union - her Prime Minister should be extolling the desirability, the merits, the wisdom of the British people working together to make the country 'works for everyone'?

Wherest thou, I wonder, is Thersa May, taking the British people, and will she complete the voyage successfully?

Brexit is a declaration of the British electorate, by a small majority, saying to the rest of the European Union, we do not trust you and we do not want to be party of your Union, your gang, any longer. We do not want to work with you to make the EU works for all the countries within it, for all the people within the countries in the European Union. We feel that we would be more successful if we eschew unity and togetherness, and strike out on our own; guided by our own 'exceptionalism.'

So, while Theresa May's vision for her country, is one of the British people working together in the interest of a common or shared purpose; that of making Britain a 'meritocracy', her vision for Europe is to have and play no role in it. Except insofar as making it work in the interest of helping to realise her nation vision. In this, I perceive a contradiction, in that while extolling the virtues and necessity for her people to unite and work together to make the country work for all of them, she is happy to jump off the European Union ship.

The grand designs of politicians are not closest to the thoughts of ordinary people living ordinary lives, for which they are personally responsible.

If, and this is a big if, Prime Minister May is able to realise, to a significant extent, her vision of a Britain based on 'opportunity for all' and achievements based on merits; meritocracy', then, she will have succeeded in effecting probably the biggest or one of the biggest benevolent social revolution of any political party, in Britain, since probably William Beverage's 'welfare state.'

Between now and May 2020, the British people will know whether the fact that Theresa May has the inverted initials of her female predecessor, Margaret Thatcher, is more than a mere coincidence, of has some prophetic resonance of great significance.

Having a bird's eye view of the available opportunities to to work towards 'meriting' being counted amongst the 'privileged few', or to place ones' self in the company of the 'median classes'?
