BRITAIN'S NEW REVOLUTIONARY PRIME MINISTER - WILL SHE LIVE THE TALK?

Is the British Prime Minister promising the British people the birth of a golden age?

I do not know if I should begin by saying it has been my privilege to listen to part of Prime Minister Theresa May's  Party's Conference speech, considering her continued emphasis on making 'Britain work for everyone', and not just the 'privileged few.'

Yet, in listening to the Prime Minister, without the filters of any political party's dogma and diatribe, except that, as a rule, we should not take politicians at face value, I have to confess that I do find her interesting and commanding of my attention.

I detect something probably out of the ordinary about Theresa May. She speaks commandingly and with convictions. She seems to believe what she is saying, and she is telling Britain and the British people that she intends to get the job - that of 'making Britain works for everyone - done. The Prime Minister spoke with emphasis and passion, in probably an Obamaesque manner. In her call for her party and the British people to "come with me" to help her to realise her vision of building a Britain which will benefit and work for all the British people, there was just, if not more than a little nod to 'populism.'

Working together to realise the 'Mayist vision?

Which led me to contemplate whether, despite the apparent conviction, passion and fervour in the Prime Minister's voice, tone and her demeanour, this is not party or wholly just another political speech, by an ambitious politician who has been appropriated by the personal relations, media and policy advisors who have been employed or recruited to package, present and sell Mayism to the British people?

Yes, there might well be some evidence for my cynicism, since, as I have already cautioned, we much be aware of politicians and approach them guardedly, as they have the power to cause us, the electorate, the people, grievous harm. However, Prime Minister May is new to her post, and needs to be allowed the necessary flexibility to be properly inducted into what is the currently accepted role of a Prime Minister, and then to begin the process of making her own mark on the Office of the Prime Minister. To be able to put into effect her words and vision, giving them physicality, so that they can materialise and become integral parts of the British landscape.
