JUST A THOUGH - ENJOY YOUR GARDEN, BUT FIRST, PLANT AND NURTURE IT!

And so it is that some of us humans are not lovers of gardens and appreciators of the beauty of a verdant garden.

With plants of different kinds, flowers of radiant and different colours, and birds and animals which have chosen our gardens as their habit or homes, enabling us to observe, know and understand them better.

Plants which are helping to filter the air surrounding our homes, consuming, by the process of photosynthesis, our poisonous carbon monoxide and secreting us breathable oxygen.

How is it that, at a time when our atmosphere is and has become so poisonous that we seem to take for granted the life-giving quality of plant life?

That we continue to make war with our environment. Not only do we relentlessly invade the forests, the woods and deplete them.

But many of us also banish the floral gardens from our homes, and replace them with 'concrete desertification.'

Not that urban humans need to cut down trees to use as fuel. Like so many of our less blessed fellow humans, who have resorted to doing so for firewood, animal feed and shelter, and their own accommodation.

But for too many urban humans, there is an unwillingness or reluctance to share our homes with the natural verdance of plant life and the varied and delightful faunal life which they attract.

All done in myopic endeavour of the indolent urban dweller making his home 'self-maintained.'

No grass to mow, no weeds to remove, no trees to create the need to clean up leaves, no garden to be maintained.

And so it is that some humans have made their homes into 'stony or concrete grounds.'

Where no plants are grown, no gardens are to be found, no birds are to be seen stopping by, nor their chirpy and versatile singing to be heard, because there is this atmosphere of sterility which adorns the place.

A 'sterility' which says, the occupiers of these plots of land have become detached from nature and the natural organic world.

That they have become detached from an essential facet of their humanity, their intuitiveness and their spirituality.

It is through our communion with the faunal and floral dimensions, as much as with water and air, that us humans are able to renew our oneness with nature.

So, in endeavouring to live your life to the full, as you/we travel towards our destiny, do spend time planting and nurturing a garden of which you can be proud.

And which will provide a fitting habitat for a range of garden wildlife, and, in so doing, provide you and others with added pleasure.
