BRITISH GRAND PRIX - MIXED FORTUNES AS VERSTAPPEN CRASHED OUT AND HAMILTON PREVAILED! ! ! PART 1.

 

So let it be said, that every person who witnessed Max Verstappen's car diagonally  rocketing towards the barriers of the Silverstone Circuit, and then becoming transformed from it sleek and beautiful form into a manacled and contorted near unrecognised object. 

Will have breathe a heavy sigh of relieve and be thankful that he was able to escape with his life, and only minor physical harm, though probably more significant psychological ones

As those of us watching looked at the horror playing out before our eyes followed Max's car on its way to being smashed, we scoured the landscape trying to see if we could see Lewis' car. 

Not surprisingly, the shock of having Max's cruel fate impacting our senses, were, at least for those of us who are Lewis' fans, was only balanced by the sense of relief that Lewis' car had survived the incident with nothing comparable to Max's. 

And, with the race having been Red Flagged, even as the competitors begin to accommodate and rationalise the impact of the incident, before returning to the Grid. 

So also, did everybody who had watched the unfolding event, did apply their expert and layperson's intellect to making judgements about Max and Lewis' perceived level of culpability or exoneration.

Now, it is of the nature and fate of us humans, that we should spend much our time and our days being tested and tortured by our angst about things and events that we cannot change or undue.  

And consequently having less time to spend changing the things we are able to change. 

Such as the things which have not yet been done or taken place.

And so it is with the furore arising from the Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen's spectacular and destructive crash during the British Grand Prix at the Silverstone Circuit on Sunday 18th July 2021. 

Spectacular as the crash was, on reflection, it really ought to have been surprising that it did occur. Lewis and Max, from the time they rocketed off the grid, with Max leading Lewis, were both racing and driven at the same time.
