JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE CASE FOR NOT HAVING CHILDREN. PART 3.

There are other more human-specific reasons supporting the case for not having children. Reasons which could indeed be at the very root or core of the formulation and growth of theism and theistic-orientated religions.

Reasons such as the fact that, like all other living creatures, humans must pay the price of life, which is to die, and, in time, be forgotten.

A phenomenon which begs the question as to why is it that we were born, in the first place.

Of course, the simple answer is not that we were born because, according to the ancient religious texts, 'God' created Adam and Eve and instructed them to go forth and multiply by having children and populate the Earth.

No, that is not the reason why the Earth is now home to over 3 billion humans.

The real reason why we humans were born, is because our parents - and their parents and their parents' parents back to generation Alpha - indulged in having sex, became pregnant and gave birth to us.

And now that we are born, we must also suffer and/or experience death, as this is the natural order of things.

But not only must we suffer death, but we must also, during the time between being able to contemplate thoughts and dying, be tortured, to a lesser or greater degree, by our contemplation of our impending and inevitable death.

This, then, is the oftentimes private 'misery' which we inflict on our off-spring, the children we have.

Yes, I get the bit about two people being in love and wanting to have children and raise a family.

To be continued!
