'The Russian Devil' must be maintained, and its postulated malevolence exaggerated and magnified.   So that the perceived ' superiority and greater glory of the Western God', can be more easily presented as having more substance than it really has. If Russia, then, is probably being or has been too eager to get the Western Alliance to 'accept and respect her, and is being constantly rebuffed, then, what should it do?  Should Russia give up on her apparent quest to gain validation from the Western Alliance?  That it, like the states which are members of the alliance, are quintessentially members of the nations of the brotherhood of  'European, Christian, Civilisation' ?  With 'European' meaning White, Anglo-Saxon and Slavic peoples? Well, the Western Alliance has rejected the idea of conferring fully membership of their club onto the Russian Federation, so there is no point in pursuing it, it would seem, at this stage.  A sad fact,

Quite simply, the West sees Russia, and, indeed, the Russian Federation, as 'undemocratic', and, at best, 'alien' to what it considers to be 'Western liberal democracy.'  Russia and the Russian Federation, as far as the West is concerned, is not refined, tolerant and enlightened enough for what the West perceives itself to be. The current ruling Western elites do not want Russia and the Russian Federation as friends or partners.  Whether, it would seem, in the area of trade and commerce, or in areas of conflict.  As we can see from the current trade war between the RF and the Western Alliance, and as we can see in arena of warfare, in Syria, specifically, and the Middle East, in general.  As well as the conflict in eastern parts of the Ukraine.
