They serve a purpose, and, even when those in my dear mother's situation do not live in 'the virtual world' continuously.  

She will, from time to time, resort to dipping back into it, with varying levels of intensity and continuity. 

In her another attempt to extract the result she aspires, deliberately or otherwise, to achieve.

Because, yes, as we move beyond our 'promised' 3 score and 10, sometimes even earlier, if fate is more unkind to us, some of us begin to approach the land of conspiracy. 

Of feeling sorry for ourselves. Of having sometimes unfair expectations of our children and grandchildren. 

 But refusing, not wanting to acknowledge to ourselves that our expectations are not fair.  Of spending time thinking of 'how much we have done for them, and of how little they are now doing for us.' 

 Of looking back; probably oftentimes with a certain 'false memory' which loudly proclaims that you, the person perceiving the other as now being 'ungrateful.'

   It is unlikely that things were ever getting better. But, at least the Palestinians were alive, they had their homes, their roads, water, electricity, the basic requirements for having at least a basic life.  They had more freedom of movement in their 'reservations' than they have now, with the storm troopers crawling over and around them as so many wasps.  So, yes, it is likely that, for the majority of Palestinians who are being forced to pay the price the Zionist Israeli State has decided to extract from them, the attack of 7th October might be considered to have been a tactical mistake by Hamas and the other Resistance Fighters.   So, what are my thoughts about Hamas' unprecedented attack on parts of Israel, which has resulted in hundreds of men, women and children, some of them soldiers, being killed and thousands of Israelis becoming shocked and traumatised as they have probably never experienced before? So, if life were a bitch and then we die, need we say or do or think anymore of the matter? If life were a bitch and then we die, might we not surmise that it be our duty to screw life before we die, that we might gain some small pleasure, some small satisfaction from our life the life we live, before we die? But of course, some of us might as some point, consider that it is life which screws the living and not the living who does the screwing.
