AN ENIGMATIC AND POIGNANT JOURNEY AROUND MY AGEING AND EVOLVING MOTHER! PART 63.
Be they her children, grandchildren, medical professionals, et al, et al. All will at sometime, more often many times, be the subject of her displeasure.
Not so much because of something this or that person might have done or not done recently. It could be something which was done or not done months and even years ago.
But that does not prevent her from speaking of recalling it as if it was something done or not done yesterday or a few months ago.
This is partly or mostly, it seems to me, a function of my dear mother's increasingly problematic short-term memory recall.
With things which occurred even a long time ago, still appearing as if it has only recently occurred or is still occurring.
Such is the ageing process that, as we approach or exceed our proverbial 3 score and 10 years, the earlier rigidity delineating periods of time, whether it be in hours, days, months, and even years.
Can sometime become more fluid and inaccurate or uncertain in their recall from the labyrinths of our short-term memory.
