So, this is the second and last part of yesterday's 'A Thought for Now', in which I contemplated the matter of millions of people of different religious faiths, living the lives which they believe and/or have been, effectively, conditioned into believing their gods want them to live.  In that post, I cited what could be seen as a contradiction, in that, despite thousands of years of worshipping the gods, the utopia which humans aspire towards, remain more elusive than ever.  So much so that many of the ancient sages or scribes and prophets have sought to address by proffering the theory that paradise can only be achieved after the faithful departs from this life. A proposition which is not dissimilar from the question of the existence of the 'living gods', since neither of them have ever been proven. So, now, imagine this. If we reap what we sow, then it is vital that we sow positivity and harmony, which is what we should aspire towards, and not negativity and fear, which is what we definitely do not want. Yes, it really is the case that racism, when it is expressed, can cause acute hurt to the victim, and can, in its more virulent form, destroys human lives. And, despite this, the victims and society has a duty, a responsibility to deal with it, as best and as effectively as they can. It is not about whether each of us have a duty and responsibility to challenge racism, but rather a matter of how best to address it. As you can see, this is a video of ordinary birds doing what they ordinarily do, which is to feed, breed, and enjoy a life of freedom. Take a look and see if watching and contemplating birds having a lovely time, can also bring you some vicarious pleasure. Enjoy, if you will.

Is Donald Trump promising Black Americans a new dawn 'or same old same old'? So, now we have it, Donald Trump asking, no, telling African/Black Americans that, all they have to lose is 'their chains.'  Yes, although he stopped at "What have you got to lose", what he is likely to have in mind, is the second phrase of the sentence --- 'but your chains'.  'Trust me, and I will set you free', is the subliminal message he is communicating to them.
