Mount Snowdonia - Returning from the Top - The Easy Way:

Image
This is a sound-added version of the video, "Mount Snowdonia, Journey to the Top, which I previously posted, under a rather misleading title, as it was actually the journey from Mt. Snowdonia, and not the outward journey. I apologised to readers for that unintentional inaccuracy.

IT BEGINS WITH A DREAM - A SECOND LOOK

Image
Life is full of contradictions, probably the most basic of which is that, by living, we also must die, which means that death contradicts life or, more precisely, living. The elites and/or more successful people strive to be more creative than the majority of people, whom, some people might argue, are not encouraged to prioritise the development of their creative skills, because that would not serve the roles which society has wants them to perform. Similarly, we have creation contradicting evolution, with the former providing humans with a prescription or manual about how they should live, which, ipso facto, guarantees the maintenance of the status quo, the unchanging state of things, ad infinitum, whereas evolution contradicts it, and allows for the transformation and advancement of living things, including humans. Seeing and understanding the world from a different perspective Another way of looking at it is to imagine the 'creationist' being imprisoned to h

ENGLAND VERSUS RUSSIA - A DRAW SNATCHED FROM THE JAWS OF DEFEAT

Image
The England v Russia football match in France last night was a manifestation of solid playing by both teams, which is probably reflected in the fact that Russia was able to snatched one back, as the saying goes, in the very last two minutes of the match. The quality of playing by both teams put to shame the thuggery of thugs from both countries and France, the host of the game, whose primary motive for going to the match, was probably as basic as getting intoxicated on alcohol and the venality of beating up and frightening innocent people.  Shame on these pathetic humans. Not so with the match, with both teams doing their level best not to be defeated at this early stage in the tournament. It was a very exciting match, the kind which elicit comments, from those who appreciate this quality of playing, like, 'it is a shame that one side has to win and one lose.' And it was that, in this particular match, that neither side lost, but neither did either of them won.  T

LEWIS HAMILTON - CANADIAN GRAND PRIX : WIN AND DEDICATE TO MUHAMMAD ALI?

Image
Having recently had his first Grand Prix win in the 2016 Formula 1 season, Lewis Hamilton is back on  the track tomorrow, to compete for the Canadian Grand Prix. Canada has, over the years been good to Hamilton and has awarded his track mastery with several wins. Success, it is said, feeds on itself and breeds further success, which is something Hamilton will most likely use to fortify himself, as he psyhe up himself for tomorrows race.  Yet, repeated success can also makes a person arrogant and complacent, which, arguably, Hamilton might have been, towards the end of the 2015 Formula One season, and which might or might not have cost him the momentum to launch himself into the 2016 season. Hamilton's fans and many of us who enjoy Formula 1 races would be buzzing if he were to add another Canadian F1 race to his already increasing tally. However, if he is to do so, he will be going some way to placing himself in a winning frame of mind, by removing any build up of arrogan

A JAMAICAN CHILDHOOD - PT.5

Image
By way of recalling his account of his Jamaican children, or, more accurately, his childhood in his native Jamaica, Shaka continues to give an account of the significance of some of the villagers in helping to shape his life, as he and his brothers continue to make their way to the hills above their village.   Just opposite the school is the second of the 3  public stand pipes serving the village, including the pupils from the school.  As they made their way up the sloping hill, Shaka and his brothers passed the little occasional Ice Cream and Snowball parlour just to their right.  This parlour constituted a small timber and zinc roofed building, with  a saw-dust insulated ice box, and selves for the different flavoured syrup to make the snow-balls.  The owner of the shop was a young man who had a bicycle, one of only a few in the village, which made it a prized possession. He is a man for whom Shaka has a lot of regards, as, at Shaka's mother request, this man lent his bi
