MORE THAN JUST A THOUGHT - HISTORY CAN BE WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE! THE END!

Image
For example, will they be making their exploration as 'objective and independent explorers', an almost impossible task, or as 'victims', actual or perceived, of history? And what will be their emotional state?  Will they be driven by the vengeful and even understandable, but irrational anger and hatred of a people who are the secondary psychological and social 'victims', of crimes against humanity, perpetrated against their ancestors?  And now focus that hatred and anger, indiscriminately, onto the descendants of the racial group from which the perpetrators of those crimes originates?  Because, here, again, I hold the view that those crimes were committed by the ruling and elite classes, with the masses of the ordinary European populate, being probably no more than the instruments they used. The emphasis, I suspect might need to be focused mainly on looking at the history of Africans who were not integrally linked to the European African slave tra

If so, why? Do they hate us so much that they just want us out and have no regard for what should become of us? Are we not humans like them?  Do we not relish our security and stability, our livelihoods, as they do? Do they elicit some comfort from our sadness and our desperation, in making us like the expelled Ugandan Asians of the 1980s? Yes, and so it has been that, ever since that fateful day of Friday 24th June 2016, we, the pending EU orphans, refugees, 'aliens', if you will, have been beset by feelings of insecurity.  Of fearing that we will be forced to leave the country w have come to know as our home.  The country in which we work, live our lives and feel happiest in. The country we identify with strongly or most strongly.  How can it be that this country wishes to make us into being unwanted and undesirable persons?   When to do so can be nothing short of it denying a part of itself, as we British are, historically, descended from all corners of the w

MORE THAN JUST A THOUGHT - HISTORY CAN BE WHAT YOU WANT IT TO BE! PART 6.

We have moved on from one kind of mass killing industry to other methods of mass killing. Large and powerful nations have found more 'clinical' ways of killing people in large numbers,  such as with nuclear weapons.  However, as we have seen in the tragic slaughtering which has taken place in Burundi, ordinary implements used for other purpose, are quite capably of being used to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Small nation, or evil people within or outside of them, such as we have seen in countries like Burundi and Bosnia, in the recent past, or Libya, Syria and Yemen, still continue to make killing and destroying people and their livelihoods a common-place occurrence. And so it seems to me, that, the case for teaching present and future generations the history of people making wars on other people, and inflicting great atrocities on humans, as an attempt to deter the repeat of such events, has not been effectively made.  Or, I might argue, can ev

And so it was, that on 23rd June 2016, my mother country took the decision to disown me, to make me an outcast in the country I have come to love, to make my home in and to call my home.  It was as if my mother and my father had grown bored with me and resentful of my presence amongst them, and had decided to give me notice to leave. Leave to go where, I might have asked, but their countenance did not look as if they would have been receptive of my enquiries. Leave us, leave me, now, they seem to be saying.  And, as I looked into their eyes, deep into their eyes, searching for some sign of warmth, of concern for my welfare.   All I could see was an ever deeper void, beyond which I could see only more darkness, ever increasing darkness.  Finding myself in a trance-like state, I gently closed my eyes, breathed in, slowly, and then exhaled, before opening my eyes and shaking my head violently.  The world seemed the same, for now, but my heart told me that a forbid

JEREMY CORBYN - 'DECENT MAN' BUT INEPT POLITICIAN? THE END.

Image
And then we come to Jeremy Corbyn, the leader of Britain's Labour Party. Now, Jeremy Corbyn is not a politician who many ordinary people will have heard of prior to his unexpected election as the leader of Britain's biggest opposition political party. Following the equally unexpected resignation of Edward Miliband, after Labour's dramatic defeat in the 2015 General Elections.  Sadly, after nearly 18 months of being leader of Her Majesty's Opposition Party, Jeremy Corbyn is still failing, miserably, to improve the prospects of the Labour Party ever being able to form a government in the pending 2020 General Elections, or the one after that. Jeremy Corbyn is clearly enjoying the status and relative power which comes with being leader of the Labour Party, but he remains largely at sea and inept, when it comes to moulding the party into a credible and political machine. Which ordinary people are able to identify with, in the numbers required to sweep it int

Sitting in the Court was the young man’s mother, father, brother and his girlfriend, as well as about 3 friends of the young man. All anxiously listening to the deliberations which were to preceded the young man’s sentencing.  In front of them were the young man’s defence team, fronted by his Barrister, a  Mr W, whose inept performance in defending the young man, was to be matched by his prior intimation that the young man would probably be given 3 years in jail. That 3 year figure, as it transpired, was before the fact that, neither he, Mr W. nor the young man have seen the Probation Officer’s report on the young man, until it was delivered, in the court on the very morning of the hearing.  To probably nearly everybody’s (although the defence team might well have been informed earlier.) shock, but certainly that of the young man and his family and friends, the Probation Officer had assessed the young man as being of a high risk of danger to the public.  Th
