If it is, then it is not surprising that, in order for them/us to cope, people should have to make the necessary moral and practical accommodation.   By perceiving and treating what is happening as 'normal', as somewhat of a natural state of being.   And not allowing themselves/ourselves to become too affected by the persistence of the 'shock and guilt industry.'
