Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Nikki Lauder, and Toto Wolff are not normally know for being lost for words.  They tend to be either brimming with excitement and joviality, or being somewhat economical with their comments about racing matters. Not so at the end of the Singapore Grand Prix at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.  Team Mercedes and their drivers clearly struggled, not only to find the right words to eloquent  to describe their feelings of snatching an unlikely and fate-assisted P 1 and P 3 positions from the likes of Vettel, Kimi and Max. But they also, initially, struggled to find enough words. All things being equal, it was not in the gift of Team Mercedes and their drivers to place themselves on the Podium at the end of this race.  Not with Hamilton having started at P 5 and Bottas at P 6. Negotiating with Kim and his government, it would seem, would have to be a means to an end, a ruse to get rid of him.  As such, it could be argued that negotiating with him is likely to be more effective than enforcing sanctions against his regime.  Quite literally, you can get closer to Kim and his regime, by engaging in discussions about bringing the crisis to an end.  Than by adding more things to the sanctions list, which means increasing the divide between him and the sane world, instead of bridging it.  Even if bridging it is a means to bring an end to his despotic rule. So, how is it going to end; this potentially extremely destructive challenge, ultimatum, which Kim Jung-Un, the psychotic despot who is ruling North Korea and threatening the entire world, is confronting us all with? Yes, it could lead to war, because, however unlikely it might seem that Kim might push things over the edge, or, by his action and his pronouncements, induce other countries to take 'pre-emptive' action.   We can never, should never rule out the eventuality of a mad man attempting to do what he has promised or said he will do. All things being equal, at the end of today's Singapore  Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel should be on the Podium, collecting the Winner's Trophy.  He is likely to be joined by Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciarda, if, again, all things were to remain equal. A Big Congratulation to all 3 racers for their intrepid and speedy traversing of the Circuit. To place themselves in the most advantageous positions to finish the race with Podium positions, as they have done during the Qualifying Stage on Saturday. What of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, you might be thinking, if you have not already been privy to Mercedes' great discomfiture during Qualifying.  Which, unfortunately, the Team has been consistent in suffering during the Practice sessions as well. Instead of being able to promote their drivers toward the front of the grid. Mercedes has to suffer the enigmatic predicament of having Lewis and Valtteri sliding further toward the back of the pack.  With them

Daniel Ricciard has been on fire during Practice 2 of the preparations for the Singapore Grand Prix.   With Hamilton and Bottas not being able to promote themselves above third and fourth fastest by the end of the session. So, is this an indication of how the 2017 Singapore Grand Prix is going to develop?  Is it going to be Ricciarda's, Verstappen's, Vettel's or Kimi's race, with Hamilton and Bottas following the Podiumites home? Or is it the case that, as the song goes, '(we) ain seen anything yet,' as Hamilton and Bottas are about to unleash something spectacular in the Qualifying and the Race itself?  Team Mercedes, to be fair, as Alonso might have said, have been talking down their chances of winning at Singapore.  Whether this is due to some realistic assessment of their chances of being as competitive, if not dominant, as they have been in other races on circuits which better suit their cars, is not clear.  Is it that they they ar
