And so it was that, after being at the hospital for probably just over 4 hours, Aunt Sal's relative was able to take her home, and prepared and served her her most substantial meal of the day.  After having had the dedicated and professional attention of probably at least a dozen NHS staff.   Aunt Sal was declared not to have suffered any serious harm from her fall, and was declared fit to return to her home.  So, all of this time and cost which had been spent on her and including that which she had spent at the hospital, was, it transpired, not really necessary, except for having confirmed that she was fine.  Of course, it could have been the case that Aunt Sal, after all this amount of time spent and checks made, have been found with serious fractures or other injuries caused by her fall.  Injuries which could have resulted in further complications and dire consequences for her and her carers.  But, on this occasion, as probably on most of these occasions

Painful and traumatic as it is for all the victims of sexual assault, mistreatment, harassment, rape and exploitation, whether it occurred in historically or more recently.  It is also painful for the accused and their families and friends. Just as how it can and does destroy the lives of the victims, and, in many cases, those of their families.   It is the same way it can destroy the lives of the accused and their families and friends, whether the alleged perpetrator is guilty of the alleged offence or not.  It is known that sometimes the purported victim will desist from disclosing the abuse.  Out of concern for the devastating impact it probably almost invariably will have upon the family and social network of the alleged perpetrator. So, there are and will continue to be times when we think, what is the point of carrying on with this life which is encountering so much pain?  When we think, should we carry on along this journey which seems to be enclosing us, against our will and best endeavour, into the dark and cold embrace of the Winter of Foreboding?  With all of its fearful associations, when what we earnestly desire, is that Summer should be prolonged and keep us in her pleasant embrace?  Where we can think and say, life is great, and we want to continue to live! But now, in our times of sorrow, of fear of the unhappiness which the future might bring.
