JUST A THOUGHT - ON THE INCONVENIENCES OF TRUMP AND PUTIN'S 'ILLICIT AFFAIR.' PART 3.

And in his hand, was a document, the words on which he could just about read. The writing, in bold letters, stated that : 'Vladimir Putin Said Russia Did Not Interfered In The American Presidential Elections of 2016! This Statement Is The Proof'! Just as quickly the delight on President Trump's face disappeared, as he remembered what became of Nevile Chamberlain's 'proof that Hitler was not going to declare war.'  This analogy is most definitely not meant to equate President Putin with Hitler, as there is, no such comparison. As he repeatedly but stealthily evaluated President Trump's outwardly bored looking face.   President Putin began to think. Oh, no. Donald is not thinking of asking me that, is he? Please do not, Donald. For crying out loud, man, do not be such an idiot. Do not ask me that, because, if you do what am I to say? But, before President Putin could formulate an answer to his question, President Trump interrupted his t

JUST A BRIEF THOUGH - ZIMBABWE'S ARMY ACT TO PROTECT RM FROM CRIMINALS!

Image
I should probably have entitled this a just a joke, but that be as it may, I shall proceed. It is still very early days, as the saying goes, but it appears that Zimbabwe's Army has intervened, forcefully.   As might have been expected for an army, to, it is purportedly claimed by the Army, protect Prime Minister Robert Mugabe, from 'criminals' around him. How can anybody top that?  It is like saying the Army of Angola intervened in that country's affairs to protect the ruling Dos Santos family and its parasites from 'criminals' around them. What is my point, those readers who do not know about what has been happening in Angola and Zimbabwe, both of which have had a history of fighting for their independence from British and Portuguese colonial rule, might be wondering?  For people who have any knowledge of these countries, my point will immediately become apparent.  Which is, as the saying goes, 'bird of a feather flock together.'

JUST A THOUGHT - IS BREXIT TAKING BRITAIN OVER THE EDGE OF THE CLIFF? PART 1.

Image
'A person or nation might be forgiven if circumstances over which they have no control, force them into undertaking a perilous journey which ends in tragedy.  But a person or nation which, despite having been warned of the risks of such a journey ending in tragedy, still proceed, is behaving in a criminally irresponsible manner.'   If a building project, private of state funded, were to experience as much difficulties and doubts as the challenges which Brexit is confronting.   Even before it leaves port, it is probably very unlikely that those in charge of the project would have risk it continuing.  So, why are the Brexiteers and the British government, which should be acting in the best interests of the nation.  Proceeding, at all and any cost, with this project of leaving the European Union?  Why is the government ignoring the warnings that HMS United Kingdom is not seaworthy.   And that it is very likely that it will almost floundered as soon or shortly afte

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - THE DIVERGENT PATH OF LEAPHAR'S LIFE JOURNEY - A GOOD DAY AT THE PUB! PART 3.

Shortly after making himself comfortable, Leaphar found that the toilet beckoned, with his urge to empty his bladder. S o it was off to the toilets, where he did the business. Upon washing his hands, Leaphar, probably imagining himself to be in a place and time where he was many decades ago.   Ignored the convenience of the technologically advances warm embrace of the hot air of the Hand-Drying machines.   As he reached into his pocket and, with the satisfaction of magician pulling a rabbit out of a hat, conjured up his handkerchief.  Which he used to wipe his hands, before forcing it back into his pocket. Making his way back to the table, Leaphar nonchalantly gazed around the Bar, smiling and savouring the scenery.  Would he see anybody whom he knew, or who knew him, in case he did not remember them?  To his right, several tables away, were  5 men, all of them looking not a day younger than 60 years old, but more likely all being of retirement age.  Three of th

It is not so much a matter of whether Russia and/or her agents, acting at their own or the behest of the Russian government, have interfered in the elections.  Or whether such interference played any significant role in the election results.  But rather the undesirable outcome of those elections. The fact that Donald Trump won it, instead of the Establishment Candidate; Hillary Clinton.  This has therefore given the American Establishment the opportunity 'McCarthyise' the 'Russian involvement', inflate it and play it for all that its worth. It does seem to be the case that President Trump greatly admires President Putin, and to aspire to rule the United States of America as his Russian counter-part has been ruling Russia.  He sees, it appears, President Putin as a very strong leader, and would like to model his presidency on his.  Something which the American Establishment will not allow him to do, and which his own political acuity is not up to even

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE 'WITCH FINDER' BRUTALITY OF THE 'OUTING OF ALLEGED HISTORIC SEXUAL OFFENDERS'. THE END..!

Image
He might now have been rehabilitated. Even though, in the trial of the alleged offence, the prosecuting counsel might, behave towards and treat the alleged offender, as if he was still the person he/she was, all those decades ago.   Even when it is patently clear that they are not. And by the same token, if they are rehabilitated, then they pose no danger to the public or the community.  Consequently, the primary purpose of sentencing such a convicted person, is most probably that of punishing them.   It would not be meaningful or accurate to increase the sentence of a person found guilty of historic sexual offences, on the premis that it is being done in order to protect the community or public.   And/or to deter others from committing similar offences, since the offences are historic, and cannot therefore be replicated, retrospectively.  Like the prosecuting barrister who tries to make the now reformed and essentially different accused, fit the historic caricatur

'Probably the first principle of estranged international affairs and diplomacy, is to lie.  If a country is being credited for something constructive, which it did not do, it should accept it. If it is being blamed for something negative, which it did, it should be expected to deny it.  It should only be expected to take responsibility for what it deems to be in its, the country's best interests..' And so it is that President Putin and President Trump are continuing to agonise over how to improve their relationship.  A relationship which, if Russia were to be honest, as opposed to strictly adhering, as should be expected of her, to the first principle of 'EIAD', she would have accepted that she had placed great store being able to 'make it with Donald.'  But sofar, and the indications are that it will not changes greatly, President Putin and President Trump have not been able to progressed their relationship. Largely because Donald's p
