I have just watched an Aljazeera documentary, called Boko Haram. Which gives an account of the inception and escalation of the extremely brutal war which both the Nigerian Army and Government, and the Boko Haram insurgents have been fighting against the people of the affected regions of Nigeria. It is probably impossible to watch this documentary and not be appalled by the brutality of both sides. By how both the Army, apparently having been briefed by the relevant politicians, on how to ensure that their conduct of the war should exceed the already probably unassailable brutality of Boko Haram.
