THE RUMSFELDIAN RUMINATIONS OF I, DONALD J TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! PART 9.

Image
Not even bothering to accord me the respect of referring to me by my official title.  By declaring that President Donald Trump is a mad president, for instance.  Because, in their eyes, according to their reasoning, to say President Trump is a mad president, would be to impugn the solemn and almost sacred office of the President of the United States of America.  Something they consider to be anathema. But I will not allow such piddling considerations, slight, to deflect me from this great mission which God has entrusted into my capable hands.  From this challenge of 'making America great again.' Of making 'America First.' I mean, do I, Donald John Trump look like a mad man, or President to you? Is there anything about my exemplary and unorthodox, but prudent conduct, and my impeccable presentation.   Which would, or could give the slightest inclination that I live more amongst the insane, than the sane people, leaders of this world?  I think not.  Ev

JUST A .THOUGHT - OF DYING AND DEATH PART 1.

Image
It is known that the destiny of all humans, indeed, of all living species, is that we, at some point in our short and oftentimes miserable lives, will be called upon to forfeit it.  To stop breathing and begin to the process of being reunited with the cosmic dust and energy from whence we evolve.  Not being able to escape our fate, the only thing which could profit us, is if we are able to exercise some effective control over the mechanics and process and duration of our dying. Whatever our religious belief or lack thereof, whatever our gender, or our age. Unless we are masochists and sadists, or psychopaths or sociopaths, we are all likely to have one thing, one aspiration in common.  Namely that we and others should be blessed with having a quick dispatch, a speedy death, once our and their time has come to depart the world of the living. We can all see how capricious nature can be, when it fate decides to kill us slowly.  And when the unhelpful and misguided h

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON MID-NIGHT MASS AND THE NEED FOR A MORE WORTHY GOD/S! PART 1.

'So, what are the issues which might confront the non-believer, who, in an expression of humility, of comradeship, tries to share the religious celebrations of the faithful, the believer. And how are they to resolve them?' Christmas is or can be a joyous time for the World, irrespective of whether you are religious of not and of which, if any religion you belong to. Either nominally or as a devout believer.  After all, how can anybody, except the most fastidious or fundamentalist devotee, not be affected by the Christmas spirit, or, to personify it even more, the ' Spirit of Christmas?'    If you happen to be living in a country where Christmas is celebrated? Forget any pretensions you might have about not celebrating or engaging in the Christmas celebrations, or, if you prefer, holidays.  It has very little to do with religion and a  great deal, if not nearly everything, to do with commercialism.  It is mostly about being merry. About eating to

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON SOUTH AFRICA AND THE POST-LIBERATION PARADOX OR CURSE.! THE END..!.

Image
But its likely success in our 21st Century world is debatable. If we look around in most countries, we find that the land has been taken or stolen from the masses, and accumulated into the monopolistic possession of the elites, both private and conglomerates.  The small farmer and 'subsistance farmer' is no longer able to make it on their own, as they compete with the conglomerates. Depriving the masses of the right to use, if not own the land, has, arguably, been a necessary condition for evolving from an agrarian to an industrialised, and, yes, probably more educated and enlightened society.  What is more, it is arguable that the traditions and mindsets which preserve such lifestyles, are not really compatible with, or conducive of the 'aspirational and forward-looking society which the 'liberation' and 'revolutionary' forces claim to want to bring about.  They tend to be more consistent with maintaining the forces of the pa

JUST A THOUGHT, ON CATALAN'S ELECTION RESULTS - PUIGDEMONT SHOULD NOT START CELEBRATING! THE END..!

For those who cannot imagine or feel what it would be like. They only have to look to the Brexification of United Kingdom.  Where at least 48 per cent of the electorate is confronted by just such a traumatic wrench.  With having to be forcefully separated from key aspects of their identity, of how they perceive of themselves and how others perceive of them.  With having to sacrificing that most prized, if not almost sacred possession, legitimate citizens of their country, Spain. To being forced to cease to be a part of the bigger whole, and to revert back to being an isolate.  In a world in which literally millions of people are displaced and wondering the world seeking to be made citizens of this and that country, that is a massive sacrifice. And how ironic is it, that it is nearly the same percentage of the voting electorate in Catalunya, who are apparently supporting the region becoming independent. As those who are also supporting the United Kingdom remaining in th

JUST A THOUGHT, ON CATALAN'S ELECTION RESULTS - PUIGDEMONT SHOULD NOT START CELEBRATING! PART 2.

Yes, the pro-independence parties won an absolute majority of the 135 seats Parliament.  Yes, the fact that 80 per cent of the eligible electorate  performed their civic duty by casting their votes, is a true reflection of the great importance the people of Catalunya placed on the elections.  But, no, the outcome of the election does not justify Puigdemont and the pro-independence advocates of Catalunya 'declaring victory.'  They clearly have not won the kind of victory which would give them the 'sacred mandate' to act to take Catalunya out of the union of Spain.  Yes, nobody can or, indeed, should seek to deny them the fact that the results have gone some way towards restoring the damaged credibility of the 'independenistas.'  However, if they fail to do the correct analysis and draw the appropriate conclusion from the results.  Then, they remain at risk of repeating the same mistakes they have made in the past.  By calling and holding an i
