JUST A THOUGHT - ON HOW IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE REGIME OF SAUDI'S CPBS FALLS. PART 1.

Image
Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salmon of Saudi Arabia is doing all he can to keep the Saudi anachronistic Monarchy firmly or nearly firmly rooted in the oppressive and unenlightened past.  Saudi Arabian society is anachronistic, in the quality of its evolutionary enlightenment.  It is a place with the most advanced technological and scientific developments.  But also a place where the psyche and intellectual functioning of Saudi Arabians is forced to exist, to function as it is still inhabiting the Middle Ages. The Saudi Monarchy and the other guardians of Saudi religious, moral and social fabric.  Do not mind the Saudi masses having loads of money and the opportunity to possess as much of the fruits of 'Western Enlightenment' as they can afford.  The fruits of material decadence, if you like. But the Saudi Monarchy draws the line with regards to 'the word.'  It will not allow Saudi Arabians to have 'freedom of thought', and even less, 'fr

Another Birdial Display!

Image
Yes, it is another spectacular display of a number of species of birds, all wanting to feed and socialise on the same piece of the good planet Earth.  With, as tends to be the case, the bullying Magpies wanting to be top dog, or birds, and giving the Gulls an annoying time. Please take a peek and have a listen to canned upbeat music, and, should you feel inclined to do so, extract a little pleasure from it all!

JUST A THOUGHT - ON ZIMBABWE'S ELECTIONS AND THE NEED NOT TO DESPAIR. PART 3.

Image
By the wave of discontent which had removed Mugabe, but not the ZANU-PF regime, which  have proved to be more durable than the old Elephant who had led it, until he was removed.  The 'Crocodile' is still there, and is known to be more instinctive and cunning than the 'Elephant' whom he has replaced.  The MDC, Movement for Democratic Change, will have to do much more to demonstrate to, and convince more Zimbabweans that it has the necessary credentials govern the country much better than  ZANU-PF has been doing.  It has been struggling for the opportunity to take the lead in helping the people of Zimbabwe to build a better nation, a prosperous and freer nation than ZANU-PF has allowed it to be.  Many thousands of its members and supporters have been brutally attacked, killed and dispossessed.  But that fact, ipso facto, is not sufficient for the MDC to assume that it has the legitimate right to win the election and assume the governance of the country.

JUST A THOUGHT - ON BRITAIN'S NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE'S 70TH BIRTHDAY. PART 3.

Image
Who should be treated and who should not be treated. They do not want to have to make choices about who should and who should not be given an extra few years of life and who should be deprived of a potentially lifetime.  Medical practitioners, working in the NHS, want to be able to treat everybody, sometimes without even making any decision over who should be given priority for treatment.  A mindset which is probably quite understandable, in a society where both the government and the judiciary staunchly oppose making any changes in the law.   So as to enable terminally ill people to be able to access assisted dying, if they want to do so.  A society where the public mindset seems to be that nobody should be denied any treatment, irrespective of the cost.   And that everything should be done to delay death, irrespective of the quality of and duration of life being afforded. A medical profession in which the writ of the hypocratic oath is held in high regards.

JUST A THOUGHT - IN PRAISE OF THE COURAGEOUS SHOPPER MOTHER! THE END.......

Image
Still, the young child wails, some might say like a banshee, as his mother, steadfastly concentrated on doing her shopping.  At times telling her son to stop, but without doing so in the manner which might have proven effective. But, in this case, were just admonitions which the child seems incapable of hearing and/or heeding.   As he continues with his tremulous crying, interspersed with mummy, mummy, for reasons which only he and his mother might or might not have known. Yes, it is at times like this that this young woman might have thought that the role of being a mummy, is an accursed and not a blessed one.  Who would want the responsibility of being 'a mummy', or, indeed, 'a daddy', at such times?  At times when a harassed parent could easily lash out and cause their child unintended harm?  At times when members of the public simply look on, without the courage to intervene and make a polite enquiry of, 'is there anything I can do to

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON MATTERS OF THE GODS AND HUMANS: HOW ACCOUNTABLE SHOULD RELIGIONS AND GODS BE MADE FOR THEIR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANS? PART1.

Image
There seems to be little doubt that us humans either have, inherently within us, or seemingly invariably as a product of our socialisation.  The need to be able to operate on a 'spiritual plane', as one of the dimensions of our ergo-sumness.  The history of humans has led to the evolution of the institutionalisation of this dimension within us.  Although this institutionalisation did not arise from the expression of our collective 'free will.' Not least because it might not be probably for individual 'free will' to be exercised by the collective.  But rather, because of the fact that the institutionalisation of spirituality, as encompassed by formal religions, has been derived from forced conversion of our ancestors, in the first instance.  According to the Christian Bible, in its account of the fall of man from the grace of their God.  As a result of Adam and Eve having, through their understandable desire to think for themselves

JUST A THOUGHT - ON ZIMBABWE'S ELECTIONS AND THE NEED NOT TO DESPAIR. PART 2.

It has retained power, and therefore has the political right to continue to rule the country, unless evidence is provided showing that there had been significant irregularities invalidating the outcome.  In the absence of such evidence, ZANU-PF has the right to rule, and not to misrule Zimbabwe, as it has been doing since it became an independent nation. The MDC will be carrying out its post-election analysis, as it indeed should be doing.  And yet, although  Zimbabwe, in common with too many other post-liberated countries,  have developed a history of political corruption and nepotism.  The MDC should avoid the simplistic response of putting their loss down to the election not having been free, fair and transparent.  It might be due to all of those things, but their are other factors which they should not overlook.  These are likely to include the strong support which ZANU-PF has amongst the population. The decades of infecting, indoctrinating millions of Zimbab
