And the economic, social and political disenfranchisement of the poor.  The political right, including the extreme right, might be seeing the nation's dire predicament as being caused by a break down in 'law and order.'  The very 'law and order' which, if not challenged, would have allowed them to enjoy the fruits of their privileged status in peace.  And, of course, a discernible analysis of Brazil's problems, might suggest that this problem is not one of 'law and order.'  But that the 'law and order' aspect of the problem, is really the effect, probably a rational one, to the real problem.  Which is really about the problematic and untenable ownership and deployment of the means of production, and the relative distribution and redistribution of the products and wealth of Brazil and its people.   It is about the disenfranchised classes not being willing to rid themselves of the high expectations they have, of being able

You have been living in a country for most or all of your life since childhood, in some cases, even infancy.  A country which has, for all intents and purposes, become your de facto home, your only home, because you have never lived and worked in another country which you saw as 'home.' And then you are struck with some misfortune, bad fate, if you like, which sees you committing a serious crime.  For which the judiciary of the country in which live.  As part of your punishment, decides, probably with the active participation of the executive branch of the government.   That,  as part of your punishment you should be deprived of your right to continue to live in the country, and be returned to the country from whence your parent/s were born. There are times when it does appear that the spectacular mosaic of colours which makes for a great Summer, fades away all too soon.  And that, before long, but not long enough, we are confronted with a surplus of another kind of colourfulness which speaks loudly of Autumn/Fall.  But really foretells the coming of Winter and the preparation of the Floral ecosystem  for it. With those trees and plants which are given shedding their clothes, enacting the annual ritual of allowing their leaves to ripen, die and fall off.   So that they, the trees, can have enough energy stay alive and survive the Winter. Since building a nation, or, more accurately, rebuilding Brazil, is not a 5, 10 or even 20 year project, and requires the urgent present and short-term needs of the people to be, at partially met.  As well as enabling the necessary work to be done to meet the nation's future needs.  It is a project which will take several generations. This is why it needs a team, it needs a leader who has the authority of appeal to and get the participation of all or nearly all Brazilian.  This can only be done if Brazilians are able to identify with this rebuilding project.  If Brazilians can see how, within their life-time, within both the short and  long-term, it will not only result in an improvement of Brazil's fortune.  But also in an improvement in their and their families' lives, in a tangible way.
