American has now decided to steal Venezuela's oil assets and hand them over to the Venezuelan opposition and its self declared Interim President, Juan Guaido.  It is not yet clear how this stolen money will actually be handed over to the opposition, but it is likely that the Americans already have some ideas as to how they will go about doing it.  After all, this invasion has been long in the planning. They might, for all we know, be thinking of taking over Venezuela's National Bank.  All they have to do, is to create the right, or, for that matter, any pretext to do so.  They have the means, the opportunity and the motivation; just as how they have planned and executed Juan Guaido's attempted takeover, a takeover on behalf of the Americans. It is the case, after all, that the United States has done alot to bring Venezuela and her people to her knees. Well, we, or, more accurately, those humans who have gone before us, created a God, various gods, in fact, in their own image.  And set them before them as the central focus of their existence. Ascribing to them power which they clearly do not have, and, even more noticeably, are incapable of displaying, of using, for good or for ill.  Our ancestors established this strange and perplexing relationship with the gods, and, by various devices, imposed on us the duty, the responsibility of maintaining this incongruous relationship.  A relationship between mortal humans and immortal gods. A problematic relationship between powerful but deliberately understated humans and between powerless but overstated gods. We can imagine that, it makes good business sense for all professions to take reasonable steps to ensure that they are able to influence the nation's education system.  So that it caters for them, by turning out students who will become suitable recruits.  Yes, as I have noted before, the education system of a society, is largely a utilitarian and functionalistic one.  It is about providing replacement workers or operatives with the knowledge, training and experience required to maintain the existing status quo.  And less about creating or generating 'free thinkers', philosophers and 'alternative lifers.' Like it or not, it is incumbent on the majority of the people to comply with educational requirements of 'society.'  Since having a viable job, so that they/we can have or aspire to a good life.  Is probably our earnest desire, and, having 'a good education' is one of the essential means by which we can attain such a life. 

What is it that us humans desire most, of and from our lives, our mortal and, when confronted with the enormity of the Cosmos, or, on a lesser scale, our universe and galaxy, our insignificant lives?  What is that we harken for, if not to achieve significance and purpose to our lives? We be mortal and destined to die, as are all other living species. So it is only natural that we should aspire towards achieving immortality.  Have you ever, during your life to date, find yourself thinking? 'What is the purpose of life, and, if we are born only to die, then, when why?  I mean, what has the intervention, the evolution of us humans upon the earth, benefited it?  Or, indeed, what has our existence benefited any other living creatures, animal or plant, which exist or has existed on the good planet Earth?  What value have we blessed them or it with? What would have been their loss.   Had our species, not existed and made the actual and imagined advancements

It begs the question: Is it really necessary for further and higher education and professional training to cost so much, and, is so, why?  Is it because the jobs for which these students are training, pay such high salaries, and the education process cost so much?  Or is it because of corruption and profiteering within the financial industries which are providing the student loans? After all, probably one of the first objective which a student and their parents should aim to achieve, before he/she sets out on pursuing their higher and professional education.   Should be that of ensuring that that they are not giving away good money with no certainty of getting it back. Pursuing higher and professional education is too costly an undertaking for any budding student to embark upon, with only the hope, rather than the expectation of getting a job in the particular field.  It represents a very large investment and a mortgaging of many years of their labour and emotion

After all, I no longer believe in 'evil' and 'good' spirits, or even in such a thing as a sentient god or gods.  And yes, I can see how distressed she has become and remain at risk of becoming.  That it probably makes little or difference, if her distress is being caused by her belief in 'good and evil spirits.'  Or by what affective mental functioning which has been given rise to by deteriorating cerebral architecture.  It is all resulting in a very personalised altered reality. A reality which I and others cannot share with her.  But must continue to struggle with the challenge of providing her with enough reassurance.  Without too blatantly challenging her integrity. Or confirming her apparent belief that she is being made out to be 'a fool', or a 'mad person.'  After all, as with so many, if not all things, all apparent phenomena, might there not be 'a rational' explanation for what she is experiencing? 

Probably the worst thing anybody can do for anybody, or a people, is to tell them that their fate is in the hands of others.  That they/we cannot do more to gain control over their/our fate. That racism and poverty are holding them/us back. And then to perpetuate those explanation for their disadvantage. This is not what should be being preached to the black and minority ethnic populations of our neighbourhoods, our villages, our towns and our cities.  The message should be one of self-empowerment, of empowering people.  By telling our fellow citizens, of whatever ethnicity, religious persuasion and cultural affiliations, that your/our fate lies in our own hands and intellect.   And our ability and capacity to engage with and cooperate with others to achieve desirable changes.  We need to 'disown' and hold to account people who commit serious crimes and hold them to account, appropriately for their ages, and irrespective of their ethni
