AM I ISLAMOPHOBIC, OR AN ISLAMOPHOBE? PART 2.

'Is it at the point where I perceive some of the things you do, you take on life, a serious present or future threat to the things I do and my take on life, just as how you perceive mine to be on yours; a kind of reciprocal enmity induced by mutual fear, as it were?' In those countries, we are more likely find expression of intolerance towards people of other religions and 'non-Islamic' way of life.  For example, in Pakistan, Christians and other religious or non-religious minorities are likely or more likely to be persecuted by the Muslim majority. Islamophobia, similarly, is a malady which is more likely to be found in those countries with 'non-Muslim or Islamic' populations.  Such as the western and other countries with Christian heritage, and countries such as China and India, where, although they have large Muslim populations, they are not Islamic countries. The history of Ottoman aspect of the history of some European countries, is

It is important that I should endeavour to be mindful that it is not only her who needs an appropriate philosophical tendency to get her through this final phase of her life. It is also me, and others who interact with her.  I need to be aware that, like all other humans, all other living creatures, all of us really do have, by virtue of the fact that we are alive, a death sentence.  And when we, through the functionality of our bodies, and the increasing loss of control over our intellectual and cognitive functioning, lose our capacity to interact with and enjoy the world.  When our legs are no longer capable of taking us to the places we have been before and enjoyed, or to the places we aspire to go to.  When our bodily functioning becomes significantly less effective and efficient in its functioning, because of aging and/or diseased organs.  When aches and pains become a daily, hourly or constant norm.  Then might we begin to feel trapped in

Might it be a better way, we might ask or wonder, to be suddenly pushed over the cliff of oblivion, by way of a heart attack or an accident of disaster which obliterates our existance suddenly and quickly?  Well, fortunately, us humans do not spend too much of our lives contemplating the means by which destiny will annihilate or consume us.   Because it is our duty to live our lives while we have it, and enjoy it as much as we can. But not so, it would seem for my dear mother. Because, as I have said before, probably partly or mostly because of her very advanced years and the consequences thereof.   She is mostly given to focusing on and being consumed by negative energies.  By, it seems to me, too much concentration on the things, the to me, insignificant annoyances which, should she pass on tomorrow, next week, next month, or even next year.  Will be of no importance to her or anybody else. Except probably in the fact that some of them could, in th

'If you circumscribed or deny people, legally or morally, the space within which they can think and expressed themselves, freely and responsibly, without being labelled 'an enemy to this or to that group or community of people.'  Then, you are more likely to give birth to and/or increase their resentment and sense of grievance towards that group or community of people. ......' So, I thought, where does that leave and other non-Jewish people; people whom Jews have, at least in the past, referred to as 'gentiles'?  Yes, it left me with the same sense of powerlessness I used to feel when I thought about the Biblical reference in, I believe.  The Biblical Book of Revelations, which spoke of "144,000" people being saved.  What would happen to the rest of humanity? What hope for the non-Jewish populations of the world. Now, there is a view, a belief even, that all of us humans, are prejudiced towards people of other ethnic, nati

'When does my fear of some of the things you think and do, causes me to behave in a manner in which you also become fearful of how I manifest my fear of some of the things you say and do?' Like the current prevalence and/or publicity surrounding antisemitism, immigrant phobia, and misogyny, there is also a lot of debate about the issue of Islamophobia. Islamophobia, which can be taken to mean a fear, a dislike, a prejudice and even hatred of Islam.   Of the tens, hundreds of millions of people who adhere to or practice the religion and way/s of life which has become know as Islam. Broadly speaking, Muslims. Now, quite apart from the nature of Islamophobia, in order for it to be appropriately dealt with, it has to be considered and analysed in the context in which it is occurring, or is believed to be taking place. Islamophobia, for example, is probably not a malady which will be occurring in a predominantly Muslim or Islamic country.   Such as Egypt, Saud

It was a time when you could say I was quite steeped in religion, as I even considered becoming a missionary.  I memory which makes me now feel uneasy that I might have been so easily have been on the 'other side of the divide between those who believe and those who do not.'  It might well have been so different, had it not been that, within the context of Christendom.  I still need to go to theological college to, in my view, learn how to become knowledgeable in the history of religious deception.  But back to my knowingly having interacted with Jewish people.  As this man and I indulged in our discussion about religion, and I explained to him what was then my understanding of which of the 12 tribes of Israel I felt I belonged to, according to Bibical stories.  I remembered how I felt deflated, disappointed, when he began to explain to me that all 12 tribes of Ancient Israel, were, in fact, Jews.  And not, as I thought at the time, or, better

It simply makes no sense for the President to speak of ruling the country and its people for one year, should he win the elections.  Which he and the FLN know they are able to deliver, by whatever means necessary, and then have another election.  I mean, for a poor country, why incur the wastage of having two elections when you can have just one?  After all, why has he not already manipulate things in such a way that he already appoint and groom 'a credible' successor? Is this not a sign of his and the FLN's incompetence and machiavellianism? Of course, the other thing which the alienated Algerians who are yearning for freedom from their corrupt ruling party and government, have to consider.   Is the need to avoid the country returning to the brutal and murderous insurgence of the 1990s and early 2002.  There are the examples and lessons from the fate of Libya, Egypt, Iraq, Yemen ad Syria, which should be learnt and applied. The government of
