AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX - MAX AND RED BULL MAXED IT, AS FIA SETS NEW SAFETY PRECEDENT. PART 3.

But it has cleaned up its act and evolved from its primitive origins. Its level of safety and safety procedures are reflective of the greater risk averse society in which we live. Let us supposed that Max's manoeuvre against Charles had resulted in Charles losing it and flying into the barrier ?  Would the fans, the commentators and the drivers and their teams be clamouring for the FIA to not penalise Max? Probably not, especially if it were to result in Leclerc sustaining some harm.  Now, the thing about the 'rules of any sports, task, etc, is that their implementation should result in the prevention of undesired eventualities.   While the stipulated sanctions should be a deterrent to involved persons infringing those rules. If you allow the rules to be infringed, without triggering the relevant sanctions for doing so, because the immediate impact of the infringement has not been judged to be severe or severe enough.  To be continued!

The best ideas are those which, because of their concurrence with the relevant political, economic, social and/or political climate or conditions at the time of their occurrence, are able to gain great and sustained traction.  By the same token, ideas which fail to evolve to keep pace with or remain ahead of the advancement which they have contributed towards or given rise to.   Will soon become redundant and obsolute, and be unable to compete with newer and better ideas. We see this happening with many religions, as they become unable to provide practical and viable answers to people who, with the benefit of secular education and more scientific knowledge, have outgrown the simplicity of catechism.  Or for that matter, of memorising the Quran in Arabic. Of course, it is not only ideas that can find themselves without their original clothes, as it were, but also political parties.  Political parties which had their origins and their raison de'tre in

T.: Mmm. I must say it is a very strange story, G. More like one would expect of what us humans call 'a fairy story.'  One that is neither real nor can ever be so. Unless we are or were living in the land of fairies, or miracleland.   Where all things are not only possible, but can happen; simply by thinking, believing and saying it. G.: Is that what you think, T? T.: Yes, G. It is what I think or surmise. However, knowing me, you will also know that it is not what I really believe.  I do not think or believe that things, events,  can happen or be realised, simply by thinking, saying and believing that they will.  That only happens with 'magic' and deception. In real life, as it were, the life to which us humans are accustomed to.  There is a certain deliberateness between cause and effect.  A person will normally have to think of what they want to happen and then set in motion the process by which the event they desire or fear will occur.  G.:

But he had clearly obstructed Leclerc's attempt to win the race. Even though Max could probably still have won it, had he not chosen to indulge in that risky manoeuvre at that corner. If the conclusion is that Max deserved to win the race, and in the manner in which he won it.  Then, are we not also saying that Charles Leclerc deserved to lose it in the manner in which he lost it?  And, if so, what precedent is this incident and its resolution setting for Formula 1?  Is it now to be the prerogative of any and all of the drivers to decide what manoeuvre is legitimate and allowable, and which are not? As Sebastian Vettel appeared to be saying at the end of the Austrian Grand Prix. Of course the FIA needs to make Formula 1 much more exciting? The big question or dilemma for the FIA and all the teams and drivers is about how should they all proceed toward making it so.  It is not something which should be decided in a ad hoc and knee-jerk fashion.  Not somethi

Had precedent been allowed to determine what is a legitimate and non-legitimate manoeuvre during the course of the 2019 Austrian Grand Prix, then Charles Leclerc and Team Ferrari would have been declared the Winner.  Undoubtedly so, if that had been the case. However, it was not to be.   As the FIA, taking heed of some of the drivers increasing disquiet about its attempts to maintain we could call the 'queensbury rule' equivalent of Formula 1, capitulated to the clamour of some of the teams and the drivers.  The stewards who were called upon to determine whether Max Verstappen had fairly or unfairly barged Charles Leclerc off the circuit in his attempt to overtake him as a corner, decided to give Max the benefit of any doubt.  In some respects, the manoeuvre had similarities with Sebastian' manoeuvre against Lewis Hamilton, at the Canadian Grand Prix.  With probably the two main differences being that, although Seb cut across the grass to stay in fron
