ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX - ADIOS TO PROBABLY THE MOST CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER FORMULA ONE SEASON!!! FINIS!

With Sebastian Vettel, it is arguable that he has achieved his humanity before and since he has become a great formula 1 racing champion. I mean, the impression I have is that of me watching Hamilton and Vettel learning to appreciate, respect and forming a beautiful relationship with one another over the past several years.  I have watched them transforming themselves and their relationship from antagonistic and almost bitter competitors, seeing one or the other having been disrespectful or malicious, even when there has been no certain proof of such ill-will. Into becoming beautiful human beings.  Whether or not, and, if so, to what extent this beautiful transformation has been achieved partly because Seb has not for a long time been a big challenger to Hamilton for the championship, might indeed be a factor.  What is certain, however, is that Hamilton and Sebastian have recovered the genuine respect and friendship I gathered they had had in their pre-Formula 1 years.  They have mov

Another Big Congratulations to Team Red Bull and Max Verstappen for adding Sunday's Abu Dhabi's 2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix to their season's tally, and to Sergio Perez for making it to P. 3, behind the Intrepid Charles Leclerc in his Team Ferrari machine.  A Big Congratulations to you, Charles and Team Ferrari, for making it to P.2, and winning the Drivers' World Championship Runner-up title. And so did we have a not unexpected end to the 2022 Ferrari Season, one which, I surmise, could not have come quickly enough for Team Mercedes and their never-giving-up races, Hamilton and Russell.  Yes, Hamilton was forced to DNF in the dying laps of the race, a race which began with a good promise of the Mercedes' racers completing it higher up the order than they had started, until things began to, not quite fall apart, but become ungainly and cause for some concern.  It began with Hamilton and Carlos Sainz coming together as they negotiate a bend in the second lap of the r

BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX - CONTRASTING OUTCOMES FOR TEAM MERCEDES AND TEAM RED BULL!

Image
A Very Big Congratulations to George Russell, for winning his first Formula 1 Grand Prix  in the penultimate race of an exceptionally bleak season for Team Mercedes and their racers, Hamilton and Russell.   Similarly,  a Very Big Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton, not only for making it to P.2,  but also for any intentional constructive role he has played in facilitating his Team Mate winning the race.  Now, it is the case that I do not know if Hamilton had heard and considered the message Russell posed for Team Mercedes, just prior to the pitting of the Safety Car on the last episode of its intervention.  Namely George asking his Team if he and Hamilton were expected to race each other for the remaining several laps of the race, or whether they should just continue and finish it in their then current placing.   The reply form Team Mercedes was that they were to race. Now, let us imagine that Hamilton was listening to that exchange between his team mate and their team, what might hav

A Very Big Congratulations to Max Verstappen and Team Red Bull making it yet another emphatic win at the 2022 Formula 1 Grand Prix.    With Team Mercedes, while enabling Hamilton to achieve a strong P.2, most probably due to adopting the wrong tyre and race strategy, depriving him of the chance of competing for the win. A Big Congratulations to Hamilton and Team Red Bull for making it to P.2, and to Sergio Perez and Team Red Bull for making it to P.3. And so was the stage set for Verstappen and his Team to establish a new Formula 1 record; that of Max having won the most consecutive Formula 1 races.  It has been reported that Team Mercedes' boss, Toto Wolff, was annoyed that neither Hamilton nor Russell were able to win Pole position in Qualifying.  And yet, judging by the rather disappointing, even if not entirely surprising outcome of the race, there cannot have been any evidential reasons to think that either Lewis or George would have had the pace to convert a Pole into a rac

THE UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX - VERSTAPPEN STILL UNSTOPABLE, BUT HAMILTON'S MOVING CLOSER!

Image
So, a  Very Big Congratulations to Team Red Bull and the indomitable Max Verstappen, for securing another win at Sunday's United States' Grand Prix.  And a similarly  Big Congratulations to Team Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, for making it to another P2,  in a season in which achieving a single win, is still proving elusive and beyond their capability.  Yes, this was one which, until the final 6 laps, were looking within their grasp, until Max began to exert what seemed to be Red Bull's inexhaustible pace, and simply rolled over the Mercedes, as the Team has been doing all season. A Big Congratulations to Team Ferrari and the fearless Charles Leclerc, for making it to P.3 , as they failed to make it to the required P.1, if they were to deny Team Red Bull from winning the Constructors' Championship, at this race. Much could be said about the passage of the United State's Grand Prix of 2022.   Such as the fact that it was spectacular, as evidenced from both Russell an

And the Ukrainians, or most of them, will or might want to fight for as long as Nato is prepared to resource them to fight.  They will continue to provide the blood and make the ultimate sacrifices in lives.  For Nato, the  motivation continuing the war  by supporting Ukraine.   Lies in its commitment to 'punish Russia' for invading Ukraine, by degrading and weakening its military power, and the Russian economy .  Nato's motivation for continuing the war, is premised on what has always been the premise for the United States intervening in and/or instigating conflicts in foreign countries.  Which is that, the inhabitants of targeted country should do the dying and collateral suffering, while the Americans provide the weapons of destruction. So it appears that none of the warring parties currently have any desire or incentive to talk peace.  Although, making deductions about the existing evidence, Russia appears to be struggling much more than Ukraine.  As it is clearly in

That/this has been the case until Ukraine's successful 'Rommelessque and Montgomeryesque counter-offensive has left the Russians seemingly in disarray.  Until, its seems, the Ukrainian leadership, probably having become too carried away by the military and geographical successes of its Nato-fuelled and funded counter-offensive.  Decided to attack the bridge linking Russia and Crimea.  This attack, probably even more than Ukraine's pre-war insistence on joining Nato.   Might yet transpire to be the  biggest strategic error the Ukrainians have made to date.   And the one which might have done most to bolster Russia's resolve to redouble its incentive to fight a war which it most probably should not be fighting.  And one with is certainly should not be contemplating loosing or ending on conditions which were never part of President Putin's initial plans. Russia and the Russian people are now in a costly, in many ways, war, and one in which probably most people would
