Well, some people might be of the opinion that those who have reasons to give thanks and praises should be giving it to god, to Jesus, to the Virgin Mary, to the priests and the prophets. However, I am looking closer to 'home', as it were. I am not concerned with the prophets, priests or with the gods. None of whom, as far as I can tell, have ever been able to directly respond to anybody's call for help, without some deception being involved. No, it is my contention that we should be giving thanks and praises to the people who are directly providing the care, the help, the comfort and the assistance or convenience which we need. God, Christ, the prophets and the priests are not the ones who are helping the lame person to get up in the morning, get dressed and fed, and helped to get through the day. It is their carer, who might be their relatives, neighbour, friends or a paid employee. And it is to them whom thanks and praises should be given. It is no
