JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - THE FUNDAMENTAL DISHONESTY, DECEIT AND CONSPIRACY UNDERPINNING RELIGIOUS BELIEFS. PART 8.

Why should some of them, such as those who would kill and otherwise harm those they perceive as enemies of their faiths.  Expects those of us who do not believe as they do, to question and challenge their beliefs?   On the basis of what we consider to be the fanciful and  improbable nature of these beliefs. I mean, the tell us that their God is a living, a seeing, a hearing and talking God.  And yet, we see no evidence of this. They call out and pray to their God, those of us who do not believe also call out to their God.  But we hear no response. We see no God. So they tell us that this God, their God works in mysterious ways.  That he works through what we have come to know as 'the middle men.'  And they tell us of the names of the prophets of old, of the saints of old.  They reach for their holy books. For the Bible, for the Torah, for the Quran and others.  To be continued!

JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON THE GENERATIONAL STRUGGLE AGAINST RACISM. PART 2.

Image
The struggle against racism, depending on the tactics and strategies being used by different generations, can generate both fear and hope, hostility and cooperation, better understanding and alienation.  A stronger sense of them and us, instead of we. More division  instead of unity. If, for example, the struggle against racism, is predicated on the basis that 'white people' all white people are basically or fundamentally racist, and/or the beneficiaries of racism.  And that black people, people of colour, indigenous peoples were and are the victims of racism.  Then, that begs the question as to how can such a grave wrong be put right?  After all, if some black and people of colour are of the opinion that all white people are racist, then how can they be made into not being 'racists'?  Similarly, if some black people are minded to think or believe that all the ancestors of today's white people were owners of black people who were bought as slaves.  Will they accep

Many of us will be aware of the old adage that, 'there is nothing new under the Sun.'  A saying which is often used to attempt to disabuse a person or persons who are of the opinion that that they have come up with something new.  Something which nobody else has ever thought about or put into action.  Well, even though there are clearly some things, some inventions which had most probably not occurred or worked in the distant past, such as the invention and development of the computer micro-chip.  We still cannot be certain that others before the generation that invented and developed and put to word the micro-chip which I am currently making use of in doing this post.  Thought precedes the formulation or composition of a coherent idea, and that idea precedes a decision to test out the idea, by putting it into action. Providing the resources to do do, are extant. And  it is with this thought in mind that I often watch and reflect on how the current 'awoke' younger gen

Scientists would not be able to simply make this and that claim without having to demonstrate that what they are saying, really is what is happening. But, for some strange reasons, the religious establishment.  The 'God and faith industry', is able to make grand and astonishing claims about their faith and the 'God'.  But without having, without being able to provide any evidence or proof, that what they are asserting, is true and real.  Their credibility, unlike that of other industries and other professions and field, is taken for granted, despite its inherent incredulity. How can this be so? Why is it so, that the world seems to turn a blind eye to the fallacy and deception of the theistic religious industry or establishment? Why should people of faith, in asserting their beliefs, expect, even demand that people who are being guided by reason and scientific evidence.  Should expect less evidence, less proof of them. In their assertions about the validity and reliab

There would or should be less chances of cues being missed, gestures not being noticed and what is being said and how it was said, not being completely or accurately understood. Having a system of two workers visiting is a good, if not excellent way of protection the child, the family and the workers.  Why? Well, it is because, if the social workers and social work staff perform their duties robustly, as well as ethically.  If they are, by virtue of two workers visiting and supporting each other, empowered to appropriately confront and challenge what is being said by members of the child's family.   Then, they can make better assessments and conclusions about what is taking place in the family.   Enabling a better evaluation of  what is it about the  dynamics and functioning of the child and the family. That reduces and/or increases the assessed risk to the child/ren.  This kind of 'co-worker visiting' arrangement will also enable the social work staff to maintain better

Which led to him accidentally burning the window sill; something his dad would subsequently made a drama of.  Although, looking back at it, he would form the view that it was not as big a deal as he might have perceived it to have been when he first saw it.  Especially as how his son would pleasantly surprised him by suddenly giving up on smoking drugs of his own accord.   Whereas the parental pressures which were being placed on him, probably not surprisingly, had failed to achieve the desired outcome. Kazaliwa has been able to establish a good and cooperative relationship with his probation officers.  He has not had make a great use of them. He complies with his supervision requirement and is left to get on with his life.  In fact, they, the probation officers, had they been given the discretion and authority.   Might well have acted to remove him from the license to which he has been officially tethered, needlessly, for too long a period of time.   And, in the case of the involved social worker and other social work staff, they, also, would have their 'social services agency support subsystem, and interagency subsystem, such as the 'core group.' Of course,  irrespective of what the expectations are, or what senior managers and politicians might say.   The occasions when a social worker or social services team or departments will have sufficient amount of the relevant resources to perform their work competently, is either rare or never or both.  This is, after all, a service sector where the demand has already, and will always exceed the service's capacity and ability to meet it. Social services. Which is probably why I will, occasionally, if not often, find myself thinking that the social work/social services industry needs to be applying more innovation and technology to how they operate.  As well as ensuring the safety of the children and families whose safeguarding and welfare they are charged with, social wo
