Although, looking back at it, he would form the view that it was not as big a deal as he might have perceived it to have been when he first saw it. 

Especially as how his son would pleasantly surprised him by suddenly giving up on smoking drugs of his own accord.  



Whereas the parental pressures which were being placed on him, probably not surprisingly, had failed to achieve the desired outcome.

Kazaliwa has been able to establish a good and cooperative relationship with his probation officers. 

He has not had make a great use of them. He complies with his supervision requirement and is left to get on with his life. 

In fact, they, the probation officers, had they been given the discretion and authority.  

Might well have acted to remove him from the license to which he has been officially tethered, needlessly, for too long a period of time.
