JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - RUSSIA'S INVASION OF AND ATTEMPT TO SUBJUGATE UKRAINE AND ITS PEOPLE. PART 7.

'War is not  a madness that leaders should force upon their people deceptively.  fter all, what can be worse than demanding that your people should sacrifice their lives and livelihoods for a leader's delusions of grandeur, which is neither realisable, or, if it is, the realising of it is worse than the pre-existing reality?' But without first considering how it/we are going to get back out of the river or hole, or what hazards might be in them.  Now, we can understand and even appreciate how a people, a nation that has been attacked can or might seemingly make their first response an 'emotional one.'  For example, respond with  great anger and a desire to inflict maximum damage on the aggressor, in their attempt to, first defend themselves, and, secondly, punish the aggressor.  That is, as we might conclude, 'human nature', even though we can detect examples of it in other primates. However, this is not a defence which those who were not the known target

BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX - TEAM FERRARI AND CHARLES LECLERC ALL THE WAY!!

A Very Big Congratulations to Team Ferrari and Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz for achieving P.1 and  P.2 position  at the end of the opening race of the Formula 1 Grand Prix 2022 Season in Bahrain of Sunday 20th March 2022. A Very Big Congratulations also for Team Mercedes and their racers, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell, for making it to P.3 and P.4 respectively. Now, what can I say about this Grand Prix? Yes, I could say much, some of which might not really need to be said.  During the Practicing and Qualifying sessions, the dominant teams were Ferrari and Red Bull, with Team Mercedes unconvincingly trying to play 'catch the leaders.'  Similarly, during the Grand Prix, it seemed clear that all Team Mercedes and Hamilton and Russell could manage with their below par racing machines.   Was to race with all their professional acumen, keep away from unwanted potential car-to-car embraces.   And endeavour to put themselves in the right places at the right time to maximise w

And so it is, that we do argue that we need to defend ourselves, but are constrained to attempt to do so by destroying the lives of others; even as they do contend that they must kill us and win the war in order to protect themselves from us.  So it is that, in order to be able to kill and maim us, they must make of us their enemies, even as we, in considering how they have attacked and are attacking us, must psyche up ourselves and perceive of them as our enemies.  Whether or not we are really able to convince ourselves that a people whom just yesterday were our friends, and/or just our neighbours, are now our enemies whom we must hate in order to kill them or just get used to killing our friends. So it is that, we, who do consider ourselves to be sane and more rational that our friends/'former friends' who want to destroy us over our politics and vision of the future and theirs.  Must also adopt seemingly similar insanity and skewed rationality in defending or seeking to de

' If war can ever be justified, arguably, it can mostly only be so on the basis of those who are being attacked, being justified in taking the necessary action to defend themselves. And as for the cost of war, it will always be too high for both the initiator and the defender,' Of course, such likely eventualities, the at times pointlessness of wars, the fact that today's reluctant enemies are likely to become friends tomorrow or at some point in the next generation or the ones after that.   The fact that trading between nations creates interdependence and promotes peace between them, are unlikely to prevent or abate Man's inherent episodic need or impulse to bring down destruction on our heads.  It would seem that we are no different from the tides of the sea at times.  That, whether we like it or not, we, us humans must bend and sway with the magnetic forces of the the lunar planets, the Moon, the Sun and the other planets and stars in our galaxy. Which is why our p

So, what is to be done, or can be done to lead, to extricate the world from this  never before experienced dilemma, impasse which has broken the peace of the world and seemingly threatening our annihilation?  With global war being too frightening and the destruction and killing in Ukraine being too devastating to be allowed to continue, what should be being done?  Does diplomacy still has a chance in bring both the war and the threat of another and more devastating world war to an end?  Must the self-righteous, frustrated and worried leaders of the West put away their 'righteous condemnation and bring themselves to holding difficult discussion with 'Putin The Beyond The Pale', as they might be collectively thinking of him? Is it about the leaders of West rethinking their Economic Siege on Russia, and finding another way, even if will not give them the impression of them 'doing something'? Is it about the West genuinely taking Russia's concerns about being enci

Instead, the West is pursuing the strategy of imposing massive and indiscriminate sanctions - trade, economic and political and diplomatic - against Russia and it  people.  A kind of total war by all other means, but one which is intended to strangle Russia's economy and economic functioning. With the hope, if not the intention of making it incapable of continuing to wage war against its neighbour. An economic siege of Russia. However, this strategy is fraught with the difficulty of making it more difficult to bring the conflict to an end.  There are at least two major reasons for this difficulty. In the first instance, like sieges of old, economic sanctions tend to take quite sometime to weaken 'the enemy' sufficiently to force a surrender, or to allow those enforcing the siege to deliver the coup de grace.  Secondly, other events could occur while the Siege is taking place, to cause the pressure to be taken of.  Thirdly, the Economic Siege could provoke the Russian gove
