JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON - RUSSIA'S INVASION OF AND ATTEMPT TO SUBJUGATE UKRAINE AND ITS PEOPLE. PART 5.

'If war can ever be justified, arguably, it can mostly only be so on the basis of those who are being attacked, being justified in taking the necessary action to defend themselves. And as for the cost of war, it will always be too high for both the initiator and the defender,'

Of course, such likely eventualities, the at times pointlessness of wars, the fact that today's reluctant enemies are likely to become friends tomorrow or at some point in the next generation or the ones after that.

The fact that trading between nations creates interdependence and promotes peace between them, are unlikely to prevent or abate Man's inherent episodic need or impulse to bring down destruction on our heads.

It would seem that we are no different from the tides of the sea at times.

That, whether we like it or not, we, us humans must bend and sway with the magnetic forces of the the lunar planets, the Moon, the Sun and the other planets and stars in our galaxy.

Which is why our political leaders, our masters, even as I write, are continuing to submit and give themselves up to being controlled by destructive forces.

To throw more armaments into the already massively deadly and destructive war.

It is why the are opening new theatres of war, by massively increasing the momentum and scale of the economic and trade war.

The fear war, the propaganda war, the psychological war, the war on individuals, the ethnic war, the scape-goating war.

And the war on our 'purported right to have a different point of view', even if that means going against the manufactured or manipulated majority view.

The call goes out for peace, let us make peace, but it is not as strident, and as reverberating as the call for pass me/us more arms.

Seemingly because of the perception that not enough damage, enough killing and maiming has been done to the 'enemy.'

Or that too much damage has been done and must be avenged before a cease-fire can be re-established and the focus be moved away from the battle-fields, the killing fields, and return to negotiating table to regain the peace.

It is probably the curse of wars that they have a tendency to destroy the things they are intended to protect.

To be continued!
