LIFE OR LIVING IS GREAT?!

As I see it, life is somewhat different from living. Life is the ability to breathe automatically or assistedly, whereas living describes the range of activities which a person can indulge in and experience, both sensorially and physically. And just as how our ability and capacity to live is influenced by our ability to perceive our external and internal environments, so I believe they are influenced by our 'demands' on the world's physical and intellectual resources.

Living is great, for those of us who have eyes which allow us to see, but, naturally, not so great for those of us have have lost our vision after having been blessed with sight to see the beauty of the fauna and flora around us.

Yes, living might be not so horrorsome for those of us who are not able to see the devastation of wars and conflicts, but not so great when lack of vision/sight adds to ones obstacles in trying to escape from it.

Living might be great for those of us who are able to articulate our views, our needs in a language which is comprehendible to those who can help us, but not so for those of us who do not possess the Language and/or the eloquence, or for those of us whose attempts to communicate our needs or demands is simply ignored or marginalised by the elites.

Living might be great for those of us who have a good job, who have a house and who have food and water, but not so great for those who do not have such basics.

Living might be great for those of us who are in good or reasonably good health and are mobile, but not so great for those of us who do not have such basics and for whom each day, probably each hour is a big challenge and struggle.

Living might be great for those of us who are not only able to see the birds and other fauna, but are also able to hear their sweet and cacophonous songs and sounds, but not so great for those of us who might be able to see but not hear them.

Life might be great, if not only can you feel the warmth and heath of the Sun, but you are also able to see its radiance. Or feel the wetness of the rain, but also able to see its power.

Living might be great for those who are able to travel abroad and who can buy this and that 'luxury', but no so great for those of us who cannot do do, and must resign ourselves lessening our yearnings to some things which will always be out of our reach.

Living might be great for those of us who have peace, security and stability, but not so for those who have, and/or will always have wars and conflicts and must constantly live on the edge or as if they were dead people walking, waiting for death.

Yes, living might be great, if only.............
