LEWIS HAMILTON - YOU HAVE TO DO BETTER TO WIN THE BAKU GRAND PRIX !

Lewis Hamilton has just made his chances of winning the Baku Grand Prix a lot more difficult than it needed have been, by carelessly hitting the wall and damaging his car, which has resulted, not only in him not securing Pole position, but coming 9th place on the starting bloc.

And what does this mean for Hamilton? That his chances of winning the race has been diminished, by virtue of the fact that he has exposed himself to dirtier air, greater chances of getting caught up in any crashes, and has to contend with more hazards on a track which does not lend itself to loads of overtaking or being kind on drivers' errors.

Put simply; Lewis Hamilton has screwed up his chances of giving himself an edge on winning the race.

I support Hamilton, but, he is aware of the unknown and perilous nature of this new track which none of the drivers have experience of surfing before, which means that caution is a necessary requirement, and that Hamilton should have been both cautious and been using the expertise he should have acquires through many years of Formula 1 driving.

Put simply, this is not something we would have expected of a master class Formula 1 driver, although we were aware of the possibility of it happening.

Well, Lewis; you have had your Baku crash, but, fortunately for you, the race is tomorrow.

Go out and do your best to win the inaugural Baku Race tomorrow and do not screw up again; you owe it to yourself and your Team.

You need the help of the gods and a certain amount of luck, but, in order to benefit from those, you must stay off the walls and the barriers, and on the track.

Good luck, Hamilton, but remember that luck and the assistance of the gods can only work if you do you part, and drive with great skill.

Humble yourself and expunge from your consciousness the elation of winning last week's Gran Prix, in your attempt to become as one with the Baku Track. Remember that the only race which counts is the one you are taking part in, now.

You can do it; so, do it, mate!
