A THOUGHT FOR NOW - RESPECT THE TEMPLE OF YOUR BODY BY TAKING CARE OF IT.

Good health and fitness of body and mind are states which all reasonable persons are likely to value highly, in our hierarchy of priorities. This is not surprising, as they can determine the quality of life we live and enjoy. If we are healthy and fit, we can be more productive, work more efficiently, probably have a better jobs, and, yes, although it is not the be it and end it all, probably earn more money as well.

Unfortunately, however, we are sometimes very lazy or complacent about taking care of our bodies and our health and fitness. Of course, if we only fail to take care of our bodies and our health, sometimes, we might or should be able to turn things around when we regain our senses, as it were. It is when we make not taking care of our bodies and our health a way of life, that we should have serious cause for concern.

Taking care of our health requires us to not consume foods and drinks with levels of sugar and salt contents which are harmful or potentially harmful to our health. Where we consume such foods and drinks, we should be vigilant in consuming them in quantities which  will reduce any actual or potential harm. Yes, that could be a challenge in itself, as it is arguable that salt and sugar are relatively addictive, and once you have some, they create the urge to have more.

Complementary to adopting a more healthy eating habit, is the need to adopt a healthy life-style. For many, although not all of us, the healthy habit of exercising our bodies through going to hunt for food for the tribe has long past. For the 'more advanced' family, the only hunting for food they do is open the Fridge Freezer or drive the car down to the nearby supermarket.  Walking has become an occasional family event. In some countries, school children do very little sports, with some governments selling of school playgrounds to cash in on ready money.

In many industries, the most used parts of workers' anatomy is their head - computer-head - and their bums, with them sitting down most of the day to do their work.

Whereby in the past, fitness was a quality which was a by-product of people's life-style or way of life, today it has become more a product of the Keep-fit industry.

So, keeping healthy and fit in the so-called more developed countries have now become more difficult to be achieve. With an excess of poor quality  of addictive foods and drinks, and a more sedentary life-style. There is therefore a greater reliance on doctors and the Keep-fit industry.

In living your life, endeavour to reduce the harm your eating and drinking habits, and your life-style is or might be having on your health and fitness. Where you are not already doing so, endeavour to develop and maintain healthy eating habits. Including the avoidance of sugar and salt addiction, and try to make daily exercise, including more walking, 'less working lunches' and leaving the work place during lunchtime, integral parts of your daily routine.
