A THOUGHT FOR NOW - TIME IS INFINITE, YET HUMANS COMPLAIN OF NOT HAVING ENOUGH OF IT. PART 2

From a philosophical perspective, our obsession with having more time, indeed, our desire to have more time, is really being driven by our awareness, consciously or subconsciously, of our innate mortality. We know what is coming and we want to do what 'we have to do before we run out of time.' This is the same, when we apply the concept to any of the myriad tasks we have to complete or try to complete during our living. 

Be it completing our work on time to get paid, or preparing the baby's feed on time to ensure his/her welfare, or getting to the train station on time to get our train. All of our tasks are 'goal focused' and, probably mostly or at all times, are intended to meet socially, culturally, biologically and environmentally determined goals, within our living environments. 

And so it is, that it might not be so much about what are the things which we allocate our limited life-time span to achieve, but rather that of how we experience accomplishing these things, that really counts. In other words, did we enjoy doing them, did they result in us getting pleasure from them, enjoying them and being happy? 

If they did not provide us with sufficient pleasure, then, to what extent could we, at the close of our living, our attainment of oblivion, really say that our living had had any more purpose than, say, a society or colony of ants?

As finite humans, we will never have more time than is within us. Therefore, endeavour to use your time to do the things which are likely to provide you with the greatest pleasure and satisfaction, and perceive of the things which you would rather not having to do, as merely necessary ends to a mean; that of achieving the greatest moments of pleasure.
