OUT AND ABOUT IN EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, UNITED KINGDOM. PART 2

Edinburgh Castle

And so, we drove along Corstorphine Road towards the City Centre, and alighted at the lower end of Princess Street, just after we passed the Edinburgh Castle. We took a number of photos of the castle, but spent most of the time walking along Princess Street, admiring the shops, the illuminated Castle, the fascinating and historical and architectural landmarks  and shoppers all about us.  Yes, Edinburgh is indeed a grand and alluring City which commands the attention and wonderment of the discriminating visitor.

The Omni Centre

Having enjoyed our walk around the parts of the City Centre, our attention was soon drawn to the rumblings of our tummies, as they reminded us that it was time for them to be fed. And so we made our way from Princess Street to the Omni Centre, in Leith Street, where we had an enjoyable and competitively priced meal and drinks at Weatherspoon. The ambience was pleasing and enjoyable, with lovely music to assist the diners elevation into getting into 'the mood' to enjoy their meal, drinks and relaxation.  Indeed, if my memory serves me correctly, some of the music played during our stay in Weatherspoon, was non other than Miles Davies' Kind Of Blue.

Upon finishing our sojourn to Weatherspoon, we ambled our way back to the bus stop in Princess Street, in the leisurely manner of 3 visitors with time on their hands, observing the sights as we do so. as it were. Within 30 or so minutes, and having observed and taking in more of Edinburgh's unique sights, sounds and vibrations, we were on a No.26 bus making our way back to Murrayfield Bothy Restaurant and Hotel.

With the bus stop being only a very short walk from our hotel, it was not long before we were in our rooms, having a relaxing shower, and retiring to our beds to watch a bit of local television, before submitting to the irresistible enticement of somnolence

And so ended our first day and night in Edinburgh.
