A THOUGHT FOR NOW - PRESIDENT ELECT TRUMP AND THE NEED FOR CALM CONTEMPLATION. PART.1

So, we shall have to wait and see what lies behind the cloud of a Trump Presidency!

The news that Donald Trump and the Republicons have beaten Hillary Clinton and the Democrats in winning the contest to become the 45th President of the United States of America, is not one which will be received by many millions of Americans and other people over the world, with a sense of glad tidings or hope.

No, as Christmas approaches, it is the kind of news many people were hoping they and the world would be protected from. The hoped for news, even if with a bit of nausea, was that 'Hillary Clinton is the new President Elect.'

That, we now know, was not to be; it was not fated to be so, however much those of us who perceive Donald Trump as the 'Damien', the Anti-Christ who must not and should not be let loose in the world to ravage it. The gods have decreed that it should be the turn of Donald Trump and the Republicons. After all, with the Democrats having had their turn under two terms of Obamism, it was, it seems the gods have determined, only fair that the Republicons should now have their turn.  Although we all know that this cannot be so, because, in the hypocrisy of politics, nothing is 'fair' or 'unfair.'  

Is Donald Trump going to bring a sea-change to the American politico-social-economic landscape, or is it mostly talk?

Hillary Clinton has reportedly sent Donald Trump her congratulations in him winning the contest, but, how can this be so? Why would she have wanted to congratulate a man whom she believes would be a disaster as a president, a man whom she believes is full of hatred and whose policies are likely to cause greater divisions in the country?

Yes, it makes absolutely no sense to congratulate President Elect Trump, anymore that it would have made sense for other European countries to have congratulated, say, Hitler or Mussolini, on their rise to power. No, I am not saying Donald Trump is the equivalent of Hitler, which he most certainly is not. I am making this kind of drastic comparison in order to fully express how ridiculous it is for Hillary Clinton to, 'pretend to be a good loser', by congratulating a man, whom, I believe, she is right to despise, and whose potential - now certain Presidency - she is justified to fear. 

And so we have it that, party politics, like religion, is no more than the art of hypocrisy and deceit, where politicians say what they do not mean, and do what they did not say or promise, as they know that, being honest, would not have won them the day.

Take also President Elect Trump's winning speech, the one in which he loaded praise upon that most odious of men, Rudy Giuliani. In his speech, Donald Trump completely changed his tactics by preaching the gospel of unity, and how he is going to be the President for all Americans, who should now all come together. This is not the message Donald Trump had been preaching prior to becoming President Elect. The message he had been preaching, and which is now getting him into the White House, has been the message of hatred, division, racism and Islamophobia. 

If he were to now change his message, as he is 'saying' or 'indicating', then he cannot be true to the millions of Americans who bought his pre-election message, and use it to create the 'political tsunami' which has now swept him into the White House. But then again, as I noted earlier, politics, like religion, is the art of hypocrisy and deceit. Because a politician says something, it does not mean he/she means it, and, even more importantly intends or will be able to deliver it. 

Expediency is also a very important tool in politics. And it is now expedient for Donald Trump to preach the gospel of 'unity' and 'togetherness', or 'one America and America for all Americans', because he wants everybody to get behind him, even those who despise what he said he stands for.
