A THOUGHT FOR NOW - WHAT THE MIGRANT MIGHT HAVE SAID TO HIS/HER RELUCTANT HOST. PART. 1

You, the national of this country of which I am seeking refuge, I know, despises me. You resent  and fear me because you don not know me. You know of me but you do not know me.

You know of my people and probably something of my country, but you do not know me, or probably want to know me.  For how can you know me when we have not been introduced?

When I do not know you and most of what I think I know about you and your country is what I have heard from others?

Others who might have heard it from others who have, in the past, been to your country, or might, themselves, have heard it from yet others, or from 'the news' or a 'documentary' they saw about your country.

And so it is that the hope that I and my family have of being welcomed into and finding and earning a livelihood is being challenged and destroyed by the fear and resentment that you hold against me.

To be continued.
