MEXICO GRAND PRIX - LEWIS HAMILTON WINS AND KEEP DOING WHAT HE NEEDS TO DO!

Big Congratulations to Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg and their Mercedes Team for having secured P1 and P2 positions at the end of the Mexican Grand Prix.

By winning this race, Lewis and his team have continued to demonstrate the consistency in their performance which they need to achieve, if Lewis and his team are to place themselves in the position they need to be in, should Nico Rosberg falters, and provide them with the opportunity to benefit from such a misfortune.

With ~Nico being 19 probably unassailable points ahead of Lewis, and there being only another two races to go, if all things were to remain equal, it is clear that, with this big advantage, Rosberg has a date with being crowned the 2016 Formula 1 World Champion. So, without any intention to 'test fate', as it were, in respect of Nico, it really is the case that, for Lewis to remain in contention, it is incumbent on him and his team to win the next 2 grand prix, and for Rosberg, for whatever reason/s, including the whimsically of the gods of good and ill-fortunes, to not achieved second places in both of them, or only a second place in one and lower than P3 position in the other.

All of which goes to emphasise the fact that, while there is still the scope for the remaining two races to provide a thrilling climax to the season, if Rosberg does not win it at the Brazilian Grand Prix, for Lewis and his team, the challenge is mostly that of them seeing how close they can take it the wire. And so far they are doing a great job.

Lewis had the great start he and his team needed in the Mexico Grand Prix, notwithstanding the fact that he  had to make an unscheduled 'cross country' dash, as the crow flies, as he was unable to make the first corner, after the 900 metre dash from the start line. It was his only misadventure, as it were, and something which has resulted in him getting some flax for, with the stewards - rightly or wrongly, I do not know - penalising him for, and which Max Verstappen would cite as him getting a "huge advantage" from, when he, Max, put his case for why he felt he was unjustifiably penalised and his P3 position given to "frustrated" Vettel. Vettel has since been penalised and have his P3 position taken away and given to Daniel Ricciardo, with Verstappen being upgraded to P4.

Notwithstanding the fact that the Mexico Grand Prix was beset by some rather scrappy incidents, it was an enjoyable race.

Let us, however, focus on the positives, among which is the continuing rapproachement between Lewis Hamilton and his team mate, Nico Rosberg. I am pleased to say it was very satisfying to observe Nico and Lewis shaking hands and talking to each other at the end of the race; most pleasing indeed, even though this should not be unusual for two racers who have known and each since their childhood.

So, Lewis and Nico,  keep working on your relationship to strengthen it, as you are both more, much more than Formula 1 racers and competitors. You are men who thousands, if not millions of people are following and looking to to provide them with pleasurable moments in their living. This pleasure is made more satisfying when both of you are observed genuinely getting on with each other; especially as you are both working with the same team.

And now, as the Formula 1 racers and their teams have and enjoy their much deserved break, us fan will be looking forward to the next race, the Brazil Grand Prix, during the the weekend of 11-13 November, 2016, with both eager anticipation, and great expectation of what fortune fate will bestow on Lewis and Nico and their team, during that race.
