PRIME MINISTER MAY AND THE POOLDIISATION OF BRITAIN. PART 1.

Just when you think politicians cannot sink any lower in their despicability, Britain's Prime Minister, Mrs Theresa May, has proven those of us who had such thoughts, wrong; very wrong.

Why, and in what context has she done so, you might ask? Well, the why has been satisfied by Mrs May condemning John Kerry's epic speech about the need for Israel to listen to the world and stop building more settlements on occupied Palestinian lands, and to do more to bring about a just settlement of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, as "inappropriate."

The context is  that Mrs May has obsequiously attempted to appease the incoming United States President, Donald Trump, and pacify the seething Prime Minister of Israel, by, effectively, washing her hands of Britain's substantial role in the passing of the recent United Nation's resolution requiring Israel to desist from the building of such settlements. Thereby opening the United Kingdom to the risk of being seen as a poodle of President Trump, and a 'turncoat' with regards to Britain's loyalty to the out-going Obama Administration.

Compare this with the late Zambian President, Mr Kenneth Kaunda, referring to Britain's then persistent failure to take effective action to end the, also late, Ian Smith, who had declared UDI of the former Rhodesi, now Zimbabwe, as "a toothless bulldog", towards the end of the last century.

Mrs May is, effectively, telling Donald Trump and Binyamin Netanyahu that the resolution and John Kerry's subsequent speech had nothing to do with her and her government. Thus she is almost denying the presence of Britain's Ambassador, Mr Matthew Rycroff, at the relevant United Nation's meeting, and, we might assume, seeking to nullify his vote for the Resolution.

Sadly, this is becoming Mrs May's trademark, her modus operandi, in her disowning the legitimate and reasonable actions of her government's officials. It has only been a matter of a few weeks since she disowned remarks her Foreign Secretary, Boris Johnson, has made about Saudi Arabia, and now, her she is disowning the action of her UN's Ambassador.

To be continued.
