RUSSIA, CHINA AND THE DON PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES - WILL IT BE WAR? THE END!

So, The Don is promising to make it more difficult for American companies to operate in and trade with foreign countries, such as China, by putting the squeeze on trade agreements and making them more partial to America's interests, as perceived by The Don. This could mean companies in America producing products at a higher cost than they are being produced in other countries; yes, such as China, and with the American consumer having to pay a higher price for them. Which, of course, could lead wage and price inflation.

With The Don seemingly, as it were, hell-bent on starting a trade war with China, we can expect that it will degenerate into a political and, possibly, a military war, even if by means of proxies

Of course, one of the biggest obstacle I foresee in The Don actually waging his war - economic, political and/or militarily - against China,, is that of how The Don will attempt to 'manipulate' the China/Russia alliance? There is also the issue of the adverse impact it would have on Western economies, which have now embraced China as an integral factor in their economies

Reading between the lines, as it were, and listening to Russia Today, one can get the impression that the Russian Federation is at least cautiously, if not impatiently anticipating that a Donald Trump Administration will be more cooperative and favourable towards Russia, than the closing Obama one.

Yes, that might well be so, but, how favourable and how cooperative can it be, if Trump is going to be hell-bent on trying to beat the Russian Federation's largest and most powerful strategic ally, China, on the head? Can there be really a situation in which Russia's new American 'friend or partner', is also the ardent 'enemy' of Russia's most powerful strategic partner and ideological ally?

Is The Don President really going to say to Vladmir Putin's Government, 'look, we will continue to acquiesce to your annexation of Crimea, and the freezing of the border status quo in eastern Ukraine, providing you do not 'take sides' in my trade war with China, your friend.' Is Donald Trump also going to offer to take action to remove the trade and financial sanctions against the Russian Federation, as a further sweetener to gain President Putin's passive collaboration as he, Trump, puts pressure on China?

If The Don President was to put such a seemingly ridiculous proposition to the Russian Federation, and have it accepted by it, what kind of 'friend and ally' of China would that made President Putin?

Now, I am aware of the fact that politicians can be, if they are not so by their very nature, despicable and machiavellianistic. Yet, it behoves me as to what President Putin could hope to achieve, were he to be unfaithful to his Chinese ally, in order to gain some short-term strategic advantage from an American President who is very likely to be a one-termer.

Still, it cannot be ruled out, because, gaining a foothold today, can place one at an advantage of gaining another tomorrow. Similarly, being disloyal to your ally today and losing a foothold, could also place you at a disadvantage of losing another or more tomorrow.

In living, most, if not all things might be possible, but it is only some of them which are probable, and even less, which might be desirable and beneficial.
We shall have to wait to see what happens, especially when we do not have the power to influence of control these events.

Having said that, I would be greatly surprised if the Russian Federation, under the leadership of President Putin, were to allow himself to fall for the 'dog and the bone'  illusion, and do anything to harm his relationship with the Chinese, in trying to gain American favour. Especially as China is predicted to overtake America as the world's dominant economy, in several years time.

Sadly, it does see that it will be war, even if not a shooting one, between America and the rest of the world. Probably one which is best fought tactically, as 4 years is long enough for The Don President to do much harm, but probably not enough for him to make it irrevocably or irreparably.
The strategy will be to see him out, while doing everything reasonably to minimise the damage he will be causing.
