THE BATTLE FOR ALEPPO; IS IT ALSO THE CRITICAL BATTLE FOR SYRIA'S SOVEREIGNTY? PART 1

The Battle for Aleppo has, after over 4 years of toing and froing, been intensified, with the Syrian Government's current offensive appearing to be proving to be successful in driving out and/or defeating the rebels.

 Why now, one might ask? Why is the Aleppo offensive by the Syrian Government only now proving successful, after so many years of brutality, killing and destruction by the opposing forces? Is it that the rebels are, at last, tired of fighting a brutal war, of declaring how murderous and brutal the Syrian Government is being, compared to the 'angelic' and 'Saladinian' war which they have been fighting? 

 These very rebels who, with the aiding and abetting of western governments, have made Syria a more fertile breeding ground for Daesh/Isis?

Have the forces whose brutality have been matched by the slickness and machiavellian nature of their propaganda war, which they and their American, British, French, Saudi and other supporters and protectors been inundating the world's media with, now becoming effectively a spent force? Are their military fortune now failing like the political fortunes of their western supporters - the American, French, British, Turkish and Saudi governments?

 Is it the case that President Obama's, President Hollande's and Theresa May's governments are, at last, simply acquiescing to the capitulation of their proxy forces in Syrian? Having failed to grasp the opportunity to call time on them over 2 years ago, when they could have done so with some credibility, and shorten this vicious and massively destructive proxy war? 

Could it be the case that Obama, Hollande and May are now seeing sense and choosing not to continue to promote the killing and the destruction anymore? Something which they have been doing only for their own goe-political and economic interests? Are they really tired of aiding and abetting this destructive war and want peace for the Syrian people, and no longer victory for their proxy armies and Arab allies?

 Yes, it really is the case that things are no longer what they used to be. President Obama is on his way out, and has had to take his feet off the pedal in his support of his proxy armies. While his UN Ambassador constantly scream foul at the Russians, and cast aspersions at the Syrian Government, Obama has had to heed his own advice to President Elect Donald Trump. 

 He has had to be pragmatic, and acknowledge that the Russian intervention in Syria, coupled with that of Iran and Hezbollah and other supporters of the Syrian Government, have  changed the whole dynamics of the Syrian proxy war, and has now resulted in the ascendancy of the Syrian State.
