JUST PHILOSOPHISING ON STATES OF BEING - PEOPLE WHO DO NOT NEED THEISTIC RELIGION IN ...PART 2.

And what of the people who do not need theistic religions as their guide through living?

Would it be people who are inherently good, devoid of 'original sin' and have arrived at and are able to maintain their own 'moral compass', without the need to cite 'an higher authority'?

There is, I sometimes think, a perception among us humans that, our own sanity can be measured in relation to the level of insanity of ours.

That 'the madness' of others is an affirmation of our own sanity. 'They are mad', or, 'if they are mad', then we must be sane. And so it seems to me, is the case with theistic religions.

That they make out the gods to be 'saints', to be 'holy', 'sacred and sacrosanct', and 'virtuous', so that the esteemed nature of their gods can be set against the 'purported evil and sinful nature' of us humans.

However, while it is the case that us humans have been given to do appalling as well as the most humbling of acts to our fellow humans. There is nothing to say any of it would necessarily have not taken place without the invocation of the gods.

Indeed, it does seem to be the case that more evil have befallen us humans and the earth, as a consequence of something being attributed to the gods.

It would be great if we were able to say 'the spirit of the crusades and Islamic quest to convert more of the world's populations into becoming Muslims.

But I suspect that we would not have any basis for making such an assertion.

There are still Christians who want to convert other people into becoming Christians, and adopting their deceptive and anachronistic mindsets.

So, also, are there Muslims, as we are reminded so atrociously by the Isis usurpers and fanatics in Pakistan. Who have become visually and intellectually blinded by their sightless version of Islam.

Who want to use their religion to exterminate the light of human enlightenment.

We can probably remember the last time a people or nation have used the call of religion and god to legitimise attacking or defending themselves from another people or nation.

But we might not be so successful in recalling the last time religion and the invocation of the gods was successfully used to avoid a war.

To be continued.
