A CONVERSATION WITH GOD. PART 18.

For thousands of years, humans, first the priests, shaman, and the clergy, and then the ordinary people, have sought to speak with the gods, and then for the gods.

Always being secure in the knowledge that the gods would not denounce what they have reported of these conversations. So, why have the gods remained silent? Why have the gods chosen not to speak for themselves?

They say I am all powerful. That I can do anything and everything. That I can stop the Sun in navigation across the skies.

That I can part the Red Sea and allow the ancient Israelites to escape from the Ancient Egyptians.

But it is my powerlessness of which they have more evidence.

I did not intervene to prevent of stop the First World War. Neither did I intervene to prevent or stop the Second World War.

Or the Korean War. Or the Vietnam War. Or the several wars fought between the Hutu and Tutsi people of Rwanda and Burundi.

Or the Balkan Wars. Or the Libyan War. Or the Syrian War. Or the Yemeni War.

T! It really is the case that, in despite my presumed all powerfulness, I have never intervened to prevent or stop a war, be it a small one or a big one.

Quite the opposite, with the Believers using me to justify making wars on each other and on others.

They say I am loving, but, looking at what humans are doing to one another, you might want to question why is it that I do not intervene to stop their carnage.

It is my belief, T. And no more than a belief, although you could argue that it is a rather 'well-founded' one.

That the Believers are motivated in their belief and submission to me, as a way of insuring themselves against my perceive wrath, in the after-life, which they believe in.

T.: That being so, G. I can see how you have been placed in a most invidious and unenviable position.

Great must be your discomfort, that the Believers should have placed such a massive burden on you?

Because, how can it be otherwise, when they proclaim and attribute such awesome powers and virtues upon you?

While you remain impotent to intervene when your intervention is so obviously called for?

That your impotence should be so at odds with the power or omnipotence which they have ascribed to you?

Is that not as if you, G, is a 'god' who is controlled by the believers, as opposed to you being a god who control and influence their lives?

To be continued.
