JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON STATES OF BEING, MORALLY IMMUNE.PART 1.

So, consider this! Have you ever heard the saying, familiarity breeds contempt? 

Or, of over-exposure of something having the effect of devaluing it and, making it, as it were, looses it appeal or attraction?

Consider the saturation media coverage which was being given to the refugee crisis, that was, and is still impacting on the countries surrounding Syria, Yemen, Libya and other North and Sahel African countries since at least 2012. 

Except for the occasional reports in some of the media, and the more frequent reports from the more concerned sections of the media, we are not hearing much of what is taking place. 

Yes, there are the reports about hundreds of refugees still dying in the waters of the Mediterranean, but not much else. 

Indeed, many of us might be forgiven for thinking that the 'migration and refugee crisis which has been affecting Europe for the past several years. Has finally been resolved and is no longer a matter of serious concern.

But is this really so? Has 'things died down', as it were, or is it that the level of concern has receded?  

And is now more of a problem for the migrants/refugees and their immediate Turkish, Lebanese, Greek, and European hosts? 

The people who are most and directly affected by the crisis?

Because, this is really how the dynamics of conflict works. With those who are most directly affected.  

Having to pay the greatest cost, with the overall cost diminishing, as the effect of the conflict loses its impact, as it ripples outwardly. Like a Tsunami, a storm or hurricane.

Now, the fact that I am raising this issue, that the saturation coverage of the refugee/migration crisis has, like a storm.  Appeared to have abated, does not necessarily mean that this is a bad thing, or, indeed a good thing. 

To form an informed view as to which, if any of these options it is, would require us to consider the purpose of the original saturation coverage.
