JUST PHILOSOPHISING - ON STATES OF BEING, MORALLY IMMUNE.PART 3.

Making profits, reasonable profits, is a socially and politically legitimate position. 

Especially when profits or 'dividends' are so essential to the funding of countries welfare and pension provisions. As well as for investment in their infra-structures.

Now, if I am seen as digressing, it is simply in order to explain that, whether the media is bring us 'good' or 'bad' news or reports. 

The fact that it is making profits from the reporting of the plight of the migrants/refugees should not be seen as morally indefensible.

So, it might be the case that, having saturated the 'audience market', as it were, with the migrants/refugees crisis, the returns for the media industry are now greatly decreased. 

So it no longer has much incentive, in terms of financial and political capital.  To invest time, money and human resources in continuing to bring us the 'news' about this crisis. 

A 'crisis' which has not been resolved, but has probably lost much of its currency, by having become 'normalised.'

You see, us humans are very adaptable. This is how we have continued to evolve and  survive. In an environment which is often hostile; sometimes as a result of our own destructive potential. 

The migrant/refugee challenge/problem is certainly not resolved. 

But, except for the migrants and refugees and the host citizens amongst whom they are living, and who are having regular contact with them, it has lost it potency. 

It is no longer high on the agenda of probably most of the host countries' population. 

Except for when their is an adverse incident involving 'migrant/refugees' or which is alleged to have involved them. Or during election time.

And as for those countries which are not directly affected, well, it is no more than a morality tale, or a 'political lesson' about 'what could happen, if were are not careful...'
