JUST A THOUGHT - SO, WHY IS THE RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT AND RT DEFENDING THE POTUS 'UNDER-DOG'? PART 1.

International relations, probably of necessity, is conducted in secrecy, with the powerful nations of the world all being given to machiavellianism.

Including that of 'naming and shaming' their opponents, when their perfidy is intentionally or unintentionally revealed, and advantages to be gained.

High-minded 'morality' and respect for national values and institutions do not weight heavily in the 'dark art of international relations.' With the only 'sin' being that of getting caught for what you have done.

Yes, why is RT, Russia Today international television channel spending so much of its air time arguing the case for and defending the President of the United States of America?

Why is a television channel which is apparently the public mouthpiece of the Russian Government, although it is more than that, making it its duty to defend Donald Trump?

The man who is leading the American government, a government which is currently maintaining and even increasing economic sanctions on Russia, and demonising her government and President?

Is this simply a matter of the Russian government pursuing its own self-interest in anyway it can?

Is the Russian Government, utilising the prestige and popularity of RT, using it to argue the case for and support the 'under-dog' President of the United States?

And, if so, at what cost to RT's standing and credibility as being 'a relatively' objective media outlet?

Or. Or is this a case of Russia taking the position that, as the elected President of the United States of American, the media should not seek to effect the down-fall of President Trump.

But that he should be allowed to serve out his presidential term? If so, how 'democratic' of the Russian government?  Especially when such considerations has not prevented the 'democratic' American government, from undermining the Russian government.

And attempting to inflict serious hardship on its people with economic sanctions.

Might this be a simply expression of the Russian government being 'even-handed', and 'impartial' in its position towards elected leaders of other countries?

It would be nice; probably, if the Russian government was, indeed, demonstrating an example of 'principled impartiality' and 'even-handedness.'

To be continued.
