EUROPE AND THE WORLD AT A TRANSFORMATIONAL PERIOD IN HISTORY? PART 8.

America is still given to throwing its weight around forcefully. It considers itself to be the 'leader of the free world', whatever that is. 

As well as of the world, in general. Its main methodology or modus operandi to try to enforce its 'order', through military, economic, political and covert action. 

This we can see from the instability it and its primary allies, Nato and Saudi Arabia and the other GCC states, are generating in the Middle East. 

With their strategic goals being to, a. continue to secure the State of Israel; b. Continue to 'contain' Iran; and, c. secure the supply of Middle East oil for the west.  

As well as maintaining the vast arms market which Middle Eastern countries provide for the United States and, primarily, France and Britain. 

In order to achieve these objectives, the American and British and Franch are not averse to forming  packs with the devil. 

Even at the cost of keeping the region in a permanent state of conflict, which can only strengthen Israel's position in the region. 

Or, so it might seem to Israel and America, in their erroneous belief that the State of Israel is really capable of continuing to keep its head, when every other state around them are loosing theirs. 

And so it is, that the America which is aspiring to make itself 'great again'. Which continues to massage the fiction that it really cares about helping nations to achieve the perceived and actual benefits of 'democratic' governance. 

Also steadfastly pursues foreign policies which are devoid of much morality. 

Something which is manifest in America's constant reiteration that its policies and actions abroad are always aimed at 'securing her own self-interests.'

This is probably not at all surprising, as most governments based their foreign policies on pragmatism, and not morality.

Of course, there is also another objective the Americans have for creating mischief in the Middle East; that of preventing the 
Russians from increasing their renewed entry into to the region. 

With the American government now saying they need to remain in Iraq, to help the Iraqis fight ISIL, as well as helping to manage the tensions between Sunni and Shia Iraqis. 

We  can imagine that they will not readily give up their control of Syrian Kurds and their proxy 'Syrian Free Army' fighters. 

These are 'dominoes' to be used to exert pressure in the respective countries and regions, to facilitate America's regional and strategic goals. 

With American policy in the region is apparently mainly to support the Sunnis against the Shia populations, including the Iranians.
