Could it really be the case that Jihadis buy into the myth of attaining paradise and 72 virgins when they die. 

 And that this is the biggest inducement for them to commit the crimes they are blighting the world with? 

 Are Jihadis like the proverbial man who, due to his impotence, has become a cold and oppressive bully? 

 Is it that they feel vulnerable and powerless, inadequate, in this world.  

 And that this feeling of impotence in this world is driving them to speed up their transition into what is no more than a mythical  world of 'Paradise'? 

Do then not realise that they would be even more unsuited to living in such a world, when they have become so steeped in expressing themselves in barbarous ways on earth?

 And most telling of all, what god would welcome the murderers of the innocent?

 Imagine the conversation which Allah would be having with the Jihadi veteran.

 Allah.: Ah, Jihadi! How are you feeling on your arrival at my kingdom? Is it what you expected? 'Allahu Akbar', Lord.

Allah.: Yes, yes, I know that you believe that I am great, but try to leave that aside for now. How do you feel?

 Jihadi.: I feel great, Allah?

 Allah.: You feel great, eh? But why, when you did not have to come before me yet. When you could have lived your life longer on the earth; if only you had followed the path of peace.

 Jihadi.: But, Lord, I wanted to be with you. I did not fear death, and I wanted my reward.

 Allah.: No, Jihadi! You do did not fear death. But did you hate life and living? Did you love killing and destroying?
