RUSSIA AND AMERICA IN CLASH OF THE TITANS. HOW BAD WILL IT GET? PART 3.

Or might good sense prevail, probably with both countries resorting to arbitration to resolve their escalating estrangement? 

But which country or group of countries have the credibility and prudence to act as a mediator to bring them together and execute the 'proverbial knocking of their heads together'? 

Not the British, or the French, or the EU or Nato Commissioner and Secretary General. 

Probably the United Nations Secretary General, but how about the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel?  

Might she not be acceptable to both parties, having just that bit more impartiality than the any of the others, probably except for the UN's Secretary General? 

Or what about the Chinese; might they be able to perform the role of being effective mediators; probably with some horse trading on issues such as the North Korean crisis?

For now, it seems inconceivable that either the Russians or the Americans will want to be the first to call an halt to the expulsion of the others diplomatic staff, and the closure of their diplomatic buildings and properties.

So, does it really mean that we will have to continue to watch these two Titans, these two locomotives continuing to close in on each other, on the same single line? 

With neither country or government being able or willing the necessary avoiding action. 

And resigning themselves to suffering the increasing and substantial damage they are inflicting on themselves and the rest of the world.  

The only way they can positively resolve it, and 'save face', is for them to be assisted to do so, before the collide. 

For them to slow down and stop, before the inevitable collision, if they continue  recklessly along this single track line.

But Russia and America are at loggerheads, and, although they are still able to talk to each other, they are not really listening to each other. 

Worse still, they are not demonstrating any willingness to resolve their problems.
