JUST A THOUGHT - BRITAINS' CONSERVATIVE PARTY CONFERENCE: IS PRIME MINISTER MAY LEAVING? PART 1.

'The fortunes and reputations of political leaders, great and small, are inextricably linked to the directions and turbulence of the political, social, economic and cultural winds, which gave rise to them.

And to those of succeeding generations and epochs through, through whose lenses and perceptions they are further examined and analysed.'

Politics is certainly not a scientific profession or pursuit. It might be cold, calculating and ruthless, Brutusian even, but not scientific.

You just often never know what is going to happen next, except that each incumbent of office will, naturally, do their best to cling onto power.

And so it is that, as Britain's Conservative Party hold their annual conference, with the intention of setting their course for the next 5 years, the question on everybody's or most pundits' minds, is this:

Is the Prime Minister on her way out?

Is Theresa May's speech, the one which she has purportedly won the accolade of suspected wolves and conspirators, such as Boris Johnson, Michael Gove,  and others whom we do not know about, really no more than her valedictory speech; her swan song?

The theme of this year's Conservative Party's Conferenc,e was that of "Building A Country That Works For Everyone."

Note, not a nation that works for everyone, but a country. With the emphasis being placed on the geographical entity, instead of the people, the nation, without whom the country would remain just that, a place, a land mass.

Last years theme was that of "A country that works for Everyone." Again, not that of a nation that works or is working for everyone.

So, comparing the 2016 and 2017 conference agendas, we can see that Prime Minister May's vision remains consistently that of building a country which works for everyone.

The the purpose of the 2016 conference being that of stating the kind of country to be built.  While the current agenda is about actually building it, and how. Atleast, that is my interpretation of them.

It does not, however, need a visionary to state the obvious, which is that the United Kingdom already 'works' or is 'working for everyone'.

The real issue is that it is not working well enough for all of its citizens, and that is the challenge of, not only this country, but all countries.

Now, it is clear that Prime Minister May is having a torrid time leading her Party and the country, with both exposed and concealed mines confronting her whichever direction she attempts to proceed in.

Of course, the biggest mine is the Brexit Eubuster, which is colouring everything the Prime Minister does or attempts to do.

Probably the greatest obstacle to the Prime Minister, is that of defusing this massive mine. Thereby enabling HMS Great Britain to embark on her mission across the oceans.

In search of 'The British Dream', of building a country which works for everyone.

However, before she can do so, she has to effectively defuse the concealed and partly concealed mines within the Conservative Party.

Especially those within the the Conservative Parliamentary Party. She is having to thread with extreme care, as she is walking in a political minefield.

While at the same time needing to give the credible illusion of being the undisputed leader of her Party and country.

To be continued.
