Usa.: Of course it is not going to be effective, Man. You cannot solve problems by simply talking about them continuously. 

It is one of those classic examples where the notion that 'talk is cheap' really applies. 

While all this pointless debate is going on, more Americans are being massacred. 

Talking about the problem is deliberately intended by the NRA to be a deflection from taking effective action to deal with this shit.

Therapist.: So, Usa.: You do not think that, it is a positive development that people are talking more about the need to enact more regulations on the possession and use of guns?

Usa.: Mmm. You must be joking man. All this talk is just a way  of filibustering issue. 

It is intended to make people disengage from the issue, by all the talking. To bore them into giving up on it, when they realise that nothing is changing or is going to be changed.  

Except probably that more people will be buying guns. And I should know, seeing that I have been tolerating this situation for the past two centuries plus.

Therapist.: Well, Usa. I am very pleased that you seem to be now taking on board the fact that Americans need to tackle the issue of gun ownership and usage.  In order to deal with the repeated and continuing tragic multiple killings and injuries resulting from their criminal usage.

Usa.: Well, yes, I am really concerned.  As it is difficult to constantly turn the other ear and pretend that I cannot hear, when in fact it is more a matter of me not wanting to hear. 

Even despite the piercing scream of the those who are being murdered, for an end to the slaughtering to cease.

Therapist.: So, Usa. Now that you have acknowledged the problem, you should be better placed to do something effective to improve or resolved it. What do you think, Usa?

Usa.: Heck, man, I really wish that it is... I mean, that it is so. It really would be great if we could make some progress with it. 

But, hell man, this is America, this is the United States of America, and Americans have the feel and smell of guns in our genes.
